My first digital after several years of trusty ol' analogue. I was scared it would sound too dead or flat... Glad it worked out in my favor.1) Can't beat all the on board stuff. If you can't find it, you don't need it.2) If you forget to save settings (scene) and it powers off for whatever reason, it's automatically recalled upon powering up. (the last scene used, that is)3) 10 auxes, fully loaded means not having to chase feedback around in the monsAND MOST OF ALL -This thing is a stand alone beast in recording live or studio - if you're in the know. It won't flatter anything, but it won't hurt anything... In my eyes that's perfect. Basically, if you can imagine it, this console will do it. If not, well, you imagined it - find a solution. The Presonus consoles will handle it. Oh, and for the price point - reverse polarity is in the box... No more reverse engineered cables, or extra trinkets and hoo-hahs to cart around. Try that with an analogue board. As a matter of fact, I ran a 3 day festival back in May and FOH was simply the Presonus and a desk. Other than bare bones sound, I did it all in the box. I didn't need 15 outlets at FOH. Just 1 :)Oh, and if you insist on having matching snakes with no excess ins/outs check out Seismic Audio. They have a Presonus specific snake for the 16 and 24. Buy them up. If the 150' sells well, they'll stock a 200'. I need 200'. I own SA gear. They're legit as hell. I gave its features 4.5 because it isn't USB compatible. I have both on my comp so it didn't kill me, but there was a learning curve, or so I thought. As far as Presonus Support, I haven't had to deal with them, but the Presonus Forum is chocked full of folks who know Presonus in and out. I put up 4.5 stars on Ease Of Use only because the users manual doesn't clearly state that the Aux's are exactly the same as the Inputs minus only some basic differences (Key Filter and such). Really. I don't see the need for a 31 Band on an Aux/Mon mix if you have Fully Parametric 4 Band on ALL channels. I'm done rambling. I am the bees knees now. It was nice that other "Sound Engineers" don't come up any more and finger f*** my rig. They're really intimidated. (Jokes on them. It's really just the same as analogue minus the digital part)

"Amazing digital board at a reasonable price!"

I love this board despite the few problems that I have had. One thing I didn't mention was the ability to save your settings. If you do the sound for several bands you can have all the settings such as Aux mixes, compressor setting, EQ, Reverb etc. saved as a Scene with each bands name and simply call it up and your are ready to start hooking up the cables. Or, as I do, I have one mix for our rehearsals and another mix for live shows.
Sound
This board is amazing. I do the sound for a Pink Floyd Tribute band so there is alway a lot of different inputs. With every channel have compression and EQ I can place all vocals and the slide guitar cleary on top of the background drums, keyboards and guitars. The music comes out amazing and the crowd tells us all the time how much we sound like the actual band.
Features
I had to put the features at a ten even though there are a couple of things I would like to see. To start you have 10 aux sends! Great for stereo in monitors. Everyone in the five member band gets their own custom monitor mix, no having to share and I have aux channels to spare. Routing to the Aux buses is straight forward as is bring in two track or effects such as reverb to the monitors. The only thing I would like to see would be subgroup inserts.
Ease of Use
I came off a Mackie 24 Channel Black Onyx board and I have to say the transition to this digital board was easy! The manual if very complete. Capturing the 24 track recording is as easy as hooking up the firewire cable to the computer. Very Cool!
Quality
This is where I am a little disappointed. I have had several "intermitent" electrical problem. It started with playing back the capture program through the board. The first five channels level meters did not show up. The sound came through but not the level. I called Presonus, tech support has been great, and they walked me through a firmware update on the on the board and it fixed the problem, temporarily. It has come back. I also had a channel strip go dead in the middle of a rehearsal, it came back about 3 days later. Most recently the 31 band equalizer started autoadjusting channely 3 and I couldn't get it to stop. I turned the board off til the next day and it resolved. Presonus has been great. Yesterday I sent the board back to them to check it out. I am anxious to get it back because it is such a great board!
Value
I think the price is just right for this excellent board. The sound output is excellent, the features amazing all in a compact size. Right now it is working for our band. As we expand, if needed, I can link a second board and have 48 channels. Slick! Other digital board with fewer functions cost a lot more.
Manufacturer Support
See above. When I have called Presonus I have not had to wait long and the support techs have been friendly, and helpful.
The Wow Factor
The backlit buttons are very cool in low light, a great looking board, well laid out. In bright sun it is difficult to see what is pressed and what isn't. If you are playing outside in the sun bring some type of an enclosure to shade the board.
