"The most creative DAW on the planet"

As of version 10 with full on VST support combined with its already extremely powerful sound design capabilities, Reason has developed into the most powerful DAW for creative sound design. Those into Ambient, Cinematic, or Film Scoring should take a second look if you've written this software off in the past as a Hip Hop or Techno friendly DAW. At this point, even singer-songwriters and Rock musicians could find a load of useful features in Reason. Highly recommended for all music makers.

Propellerheads and Reason have come a long way over the years. Reason 10 is an awesome release! It's hands-down my favorite DAW and I can't imagine making music without it. zZounds has been wonderful to work with also!
Sound
The sound is incredible. There's tons of great sounding instruments to use right out of the box for any genre of music and any level of musician. The SSL mixer inside of Reason gives you a channel strip for each track you create, making it easy to dial in some EQ, remove noises with the expander/gate, compression, etc.
Features
Well the features go on forever. Tons of effects. Tons of instruments. Solid sequencer. Being able to pitch correct vocals directly within Reason's sequencer is so useful and sounds great. Now that there's VST support, the instrument options are almost endless.
Ease of Use
I find Reason very easy to use. For the most part, the program stays out of your way when creating music. You can tell Propellerhead has put a lot of effort into make this so. There is some learning curve for sure but that's true with any DAW. I was intimated by the SSL mixer and all the device cabling and routing at first, but that went away after a week. You can find many high-quality tutorials on the Props website, YouTube, and also some paid tutorials that go into greater detail if needed. The documentation on Propellerhead's site is pretty good also.I do think the learning curve with Reason may have some benefits over other DAWs because the entire program is modeled as if you were using real-world outboard gear. You can wire devices, effects, etc using cabling just like you would in the real world. You have the freedom to wire things together how you want, which is great for learning about sound design and experimenting. That knowledge can then translate to other things. I'm no longer intimidated when I look at big studio consoles with thousands of knobs. I have a similar console in my DAW that I use every day, and it's just some EQ, compression, gates, send effects, and some side-chaining (mostly).
Quality
Everything within Reason feels and sounds high-quality to me. I have never had Reason crash, not even with over 80 tracks running on an older iMac littered with plugins. The program feels like a lot of time and effort went into making a quality product.
Value
For everything you get, I think this product is actually under-priced when compared to other DAWs.
Manufacturer Support
Any contact I've had with Propellerhead they have always been responsive and friendly.
The Wow Factor
Real-world hardware cabling and device emulations. It feels like I have a huge professional music studio in my home but without the hassle of running all that gear. I'm always inspired to make music with Reason.

This is the DAW to have if you operate by intuition. Honestly, it's so easy to find your way around and get things done. I have tried most of the others, and some were hopeless, others too frustrating, but not Reason 10.

ive been using reason since version 1, and a propellerhead fan since re-birth. Reason 10 has been a long time coming, it's been worth the wait. I've used all the DAW, and reason stands out. Now with VST SUPPORT, it's def the best out there.

Great product, but... a true nightmare for offline users. It only supports ONE offline computer at a time. What producer uses only ONE computer??? At the least, one desktop & one laptop is sensible, but this is another case of corporate greed/control over customer satisfaction~
