Have had these only a day and I have to say that these cans sound very good out of the box. will see if the sound gets even better over time. I have the HD600, Q701's and the JVC HA-SZ2000 cans. I prefer these already simply because of the portability, never mind that the sound is also great... mixing with these will be a joy... thanks zZounds...

I've had a few sets of headphones, but these have the best sound quality of any pair I've ever owned. Mids and Highs are really crispy and let you hear all the nuances of the music. Bass is well balanced, not booming so if you're looking for that these may not be for you...no Beats boom in your ear, which I thought I'd miss but its a fair trade for a more balanced sound. These are really comfortable headphones. The ear cups are soft, but form a great barrier on the ear to isolate the music from the outside sounds. The headband is has a generous amount of cushioning. I've worn these to about 4 gigs all of which were about 4 hours and didn't have any fatigue from my ears etc. Comes with great right angle cables 1 coiled and 1 braided, both of which are great cables. Also the foot print is small as the headphones fold up really compactly which being a mobile DJ is appreciated considering the space sometimes comes at a premium. Only 2 gripes about the headphones in general. I love the XLR cable connection it's really solid, but its only on the left ear cup. On my mixer the jack is on the right so I have to have the cable come across me in the front since I usually monitor with my left ear, minor again but for the price I'd like to have the option to connect it to either ear cup. 2. The price is a little high in my opinion. I know you have to pay to play. Also with the specs and durability, hopefully I won't need a new set of headphones for quite some time. They also have cheaper option such as the X7- which to my knowledge is the replacement for the 2000MKII. So price doesn't have to be an issue. I trust pioneer products so I trust that these will last for some years. All in all I've loved my MKII and I gifted them to a friend and bought these. These are an upgrade so if you've been a fan you'll be even more of a fan.

I’m a pro DJ and I’ve tried many headphones over the years. The old Pioneer HDJ-2000s were my preferred model and I used them for every gig until the hinge started to break (I think they fixed that in the MKII version). I’ve been using the HDJ-X10 for about two weeks and I feel like Pioneer really nailed it. The comfort, isolation, sound profile and build quality is excellent and I can recommend them for sure. For some context, headphones like the AIAIAI TMA-1 were too bassy and “woofy” for my taste. The X10 is detailed and bass-forward (which is important for DJing) without being muddy. The price point is premium for sure but imo it’s worth it.

Bought the all black pair. Overall sound is really good! Used these headphones at a house party gig and it gets the job done. Very clear when it comes to the highs and mids. For the lows (long deep bass sounds) is well balanced. You know and can tell the low bass is there but not strong like the beats studio where you can feel the speakers on the headphones rattle your eardrums on high volumes. But overall still very good lows. When performing on these also blocks out sounds and other noises too. Comfort- These over ears headphones are very comfortable too. Soft ear cushions and are replaceable. The head band has enough cushion to keep your head comfortable for long hours of use not like other headphones where you feel the plastic or metal after awhile and puts stress on your head. Quality- The quality of these headphones are legit. Very durable flexible metal throughout the headband and thick nano coated plastic pieces that connects to the ear cups. So overall it was a worthy purchase. The price of these headphones are pretty high but I guess your paying for durability of the headphones with the materials they used and the well balanced sound quality and of course brand name. I’ve seen other reviews where they said these headphones are over engineered and are not for djing. Don’t believe it at all...you have to try and test these out for yourself to really hear them. Just don’t expect these headphones to have them long deep strong bass like subwoofers in a car...lol...like I said well balanced and good enough to mix and dj your gigs.

Given that these are so expensive, you expect to have a premium product. You definitely get that with these headphones. From the packaging, to the case, to the headphones themselves. The have a very premium feel to them with proper metal/aluminum where it should. They also spring back into normal position, ready to wear, which is a feature I never knew I needed in a pair of folding headphones. As much as I am Pioneer DJ loyalist, I do have one big CON for these headphones. They are definitely not "Over the ear" despite being marketed as such. They are more on the ear and if you are like me, with slightly larger ears, these sadly will not work for you if you are looking for anything "over the ear". If not, and you don't care about On Ear headphones, these are great!
