I would buy the XP5000 over this one.
Sound
I have a P{honic 2500Max. It is a good amp, loads of power, it has blown just about any speaker I hook up to it with clean power, and handled any kind of crazy load with ease. I rate an 8 because the power switch stopps working occassionally, I have soldered the connections that were just press fit, but it still does this occasionally. I have to tap the switch area a little bit to get it to switch off sometimes. It's not too bad. The input jacks also can get a little loose. I switched from 1/4" to XLR and that fixed the problem. So far it's been going for over 10 years now, still use it every day. I am going to buy a Sunfire reference amp to see if the sound quality is up to par.
Features
Make the switchgear and the input jacks more robust.
Ease of Use
Easy as it gets...
Quality
Something to be desired in the switchgear and jacks, other than that- it is a workhorse.
Value
Great value. Maybe the newer amps are better in the switches and input jacks.
Manufacturer Support
Never dealt with Phonic.
The Wow Factor
I would buy another one, no bad feelings about it, although I would probably buy a crown before I look at a phonic for the price.
