Wow! What a punch! I took a chance on picking up this Amp & so far, I’m glad I did. I was an old Peavy fan from way back & this is what I was expecting from them. I run it through an Ampeg 8x10 cabinet & after dialing everything in, I am impressed. I can feel the air being pushed through from 10 feet away once the enhanced effects are activated & the tone is spectacular. I’ve used more expensive heads but this one competes with the Darkglass models. Good job Peavy, I hope this a come back for you. I haven’t had to contact Peavy so no rating for them.

I have to admit, I have never been a big fan of Peavey bass amps until I got the MiniMAX. I own and run a rehearsal studio, and I purchased this amp for that purpose. When I first plug into an amp and set it flat and if I get a good tone I'm in. If the amp needs to be tweaked in order to get a tone, then I'm out. Right out of the box, using various basses, Jazz, P-bass, Sire, Spector, Warwick, and every one of them sounded good with all controls on the bass and the amp set flat. I have different bass players using the amp, and the feedback has been nothing short of excellent. And did I mention the power! This amp performs on an even plane with amps with that have more than 100-300+ watts. The only con is cosmetically, I have this hooked up to 2-112 cabinets, because the heading for each control is recessed, if you are over 4 feet tall, you have to bend over to read what the controls are. That is just nit picking, otherwise for $399.00 I haven't played anything close. BUY THIS AMP!

Great amp for a great price. I’ve owned the expensive Darkglass 900 & this guy hoods its own. Im runner it through an Amoeg 8x10 & its both powerful & has my tone dialed into where I like it. I wish it had some more built in effects but not a huge deal. Save yourself $600.

"Powerful Little Bass Head"

Bought the Peavey Minimax Bass Head. Was blown away with the Big Bass Tone this little monster provides, but the cooling fan for this micro bass head is so loud, it sounds like your playing out of small A/C Wall unit. It's a shame cause it really has some power. Maybe some other players out there could handle this exterior noise, but it's unbearable to me, especially in quieter settings, like small dive bars & cafe's...

I purchased this in June. By August the effects loop had stopped working. I contacted Peavey and was given a number to call to have it serviced. I repeatedly called the number and no one ever answered. In the beginning of October the unit would not even power up.I have contacted peavey again and cannot get through to a human, and even contacted zZounds for help but they referred me back to Peavey. After five days they still have not contacted me and I even tried emailing them with no response. Abysmal customer service and I am currently stuck with a product that doesn't work and I'm still making payments on.Disappointed is an under statement.Buyer beware!
