I was looking for a smaller PA for both solo and band work, as most of the clubs I play are somewhat small and bringing a full sized PA is not practical. I have a Bose compact which works just fine but I was looking for something a bit more. I ordered this Peavey LN 1263 sight unseen and with limited reviews online, I was leary, but took the plunge based on my previous experience with Peavey gear (all good). WOW! This thing is fantastic! Twice the weight of my Bose compact, but 10 times the richness and depth, even sounding better than my full sized PA. The sub woofer really 'thumps' and the highs are crystal clear. It brings a richness and depth that I didn't realize was lacking in the Bose. The 8 channels are a bonus as well, whereas the Bose only had 2 inputs, which necessited a small 8 channel mixer to expand. This system is as simple, and 'plug and play ready' as can be. The unit did not even come with an instruction manual, the learning curve is THAT easy. Took a few minutes to dial in the sound I wanted, and it was gig ready! My wife, who is my drummer was amazed with the sound too. She could hear everything as clear as day even over her playing. I have never gotten this excited about a PA system in my 50 plus years of performing, but this system is lightyears ahead of anything I ever used. Smooth, clear, well defined sound, easy to set up, easy to transport and looks good on stage too. No wires to trip over. Well done, Peavey! Well done!

Note that there are other otions out there.For example, a Turbosound ip3000 which has..16 x 3.5" drivers2 x 1" HF drivers2 x 12" Subs (in one base)2,000 watts!!.. and it's $100 cheaper then the LN1263!!And I have been using these Turbosound IP series speakers for years and love the great sound!

Went thru not one but 2 of these. First one was doa would not come on at all Second one (replacement) came on but the subwoofer only worked for a minute or less you could smell it getting hot. Low very low volume. Do not recommend
