I've been using 4 speaker systems that were custom built for me 15 years ago. Two 15" 2-way and two 12" 2-way. They've served me well and I still have them. Looking for something that could handle a lot of power I found the Impulse 1012 at zZounds. Since they are a little pricey, I purchased just one last December. I've been running the one Peavey mounted on a tripod connected as a middle channel along with my 2 15" speaker systems. I'm impressed with the results, so once I pay off the Peavey, I'll buy another one and run two Peaveys for inside venues and the two Peaveys along with my two 15' for outside venues.

"They take a licking and keep on kicking!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

I've had mine for over 8 years.
Sound
These cabs have a pretty good overall "throaty" sound. I only wish they had a big more in the lower range, but they sound good, and they're tough as nails.
Features
Solid and RATTLE FREE construction! Injection molded is the way to go. I dropped one of 'em from 7 feet (don't ask), and it just bounced happily along the concrete. Plugged it in, and it worked fine! Love the weather resistent woofer construction too (I live in hot, HUMID Florida).
Quality
See "Features."
Value
It's a good product. Would like to see a little lower price point, but they're rugged, good sounding and take a pounding, and that equals good value, IMO.
Manufacturer Support
They're pretty good about getting back to you, if you have a problem.

"They are the best small speakers you will find. Buy them!"

I have owned my set of Impulse 1012 for 5 years now. I have used them a minimum of 3 and a max of 6 nights per week, every week, for that 5 years. And they are still good for several years more. But I have beat them up pretty bad in transit. So, I am ready to purchase a new pair and keep this as a secondary set. You won't go wrong with this speaker.
Sound
The sound from this speaker is great. Lows and highs sound very good.
Ease of Use
This is a very lightweight speaker that you can handle lifting onto a tripod easily.
Quality
This speaker is built very well. I have not had to contact the company for any problems with it. I will buy this speaker again.
Value
It is worth every penny I spent on it.

Ok so I have been researching speakers to death. Wanted to stay under $500. I looked at the new EV ZLX Powered 1015s and almost went with them. They are great. Down side is the 1000w they list is peak. I really wanted something weather resistant. I have a pair of Peavey 115s that are just to big for my van with all my other stuff. So I wanted something smaller but that could take more power. I could not find much online about the Impulse stuff and nobody had them in a store. So I took a chance and ordered two. First off zzSounds you need to pack them better. The boxes had come all apart. But that's ok it was a good test for them. Not a scratch or any damage that I could find. I hooked them up to a 300w per ch amp and wow. Let me just say I was impressed. Can't wait to hit them with more power to see what they can do. Most of the time this 300 a ch is what I will be driving them with. They are like mini sp2s. Small gigs and weddings is what they will be used for. Will not have to worry about getting caught in a little rain now. I was a little worried going with the 12's but if you need something a little smaller they are great. Nice low end for what they are. Very pleased.
