"About Pearl kits"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Overall, say it again, Pearl kits are good in any aspect, value, sound, versatility etc
Sound
The quality of workmanship is as important as the choice of wood when talking about drums. Workmanship even more important, because on any kind of wood, if, for example the bearing edges of a drum are not cut down even, the drum will sound bad. The wood used in regards to a drumkit is a choice of sound, personal taste and, last not least, money. This is a Pearl kit, so you cant go wrong, All Pearl drums are of good quality and build to a high standart. The sound of course is influenced by tuning and choice of heads on any drum kit. Quality of workmanship here is important, so if you want a good drumkit, you cant go wrong with any Pearl

"Well, its a Pearl"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I seriuosly think of all the drum manufacturers, Pearl make the best sounding drums,
Sound
I recently did a dept gig for a band, they said a kit is already there, so OK,when I arrived there was a Pearl Forum kit onstage. I was not expecting anything from this kit, well, you cant expect a lot from kits that pricewise are the bottom end of the market. I have once seen, in a music shop one of these cheapo no-name kits literally falling apart. But this was not a Pearl, this would not happen to a kit from a reputable company. So - ok, the gig started, I was concentrating on the music, more than on the sound of the kit. Never had played with that band before. But after a while, as I got more comfortable and concentrated actually on the sound of this Pearl Forum Kit,I must state that I was pleasantly surprised. This drumkit actually does not sound bad at all, very usable, but then, its a Pearl, and Pearl has to upkeep ist good reputation, they can not afford to build rubbish,So,for the price, I can highly recommend the Pearl Forum.
