I had been thinking about acrylic drums for years. Going the custom order route was just out of my budget. The second hand route was full of cracks, spider webs, etc. Enter Pearl with their cool looking new colors at a decent price point. I got the blue and they are beautiful!! With the stock heads and minimal tuning they sounded great right out of the box. I will be replacing all heads soon and I am sure they will really sing after that. Let's address the elephant in the room, no Tom mounts and no snare. The tom mounts will run around $100 for two. The lack of a matching snare is a bigger problem. It would be nice to have a matching snare for looks if not sound. I found some no name in what looks to be close enough in color to not stick out for around $200. However at $2k, it really should come with one.
