Let’s start by saying the only thing I had to do when I got it out of the box was a slight adjustment to the g string all the other strings were perfectly in tune. The neck feels incredible, I own guitars that are more than double the price of this and the neck feels the same quality as them or even better in some areas. I was so surprised with the pickups. This is the first strat style guitar I’ve played where I didn’t immediately think “hey I think it would sound better with a different set of pickups”. Absolutely amazing at this price point!

Debated for weeks about getting this. Must have gotten the last one because as soon as I ordered they went on back order...phew, talk about getting in under the wire!. I have so many high end guitars, I needed this like I need a hole in my head, but hey, life is short. I have a Fender Elite with an ebony fingerboard which I thought was the ultimate...but it was $2100. This SE Silver Sky is just about in the same category at 1/4th the cost. Fit and finish are superb. Action was a bit high and the strings are a little too heavy for my taste, but that's with all guitars until I set them up to my liking. Other than that, this competes head to head with some of my most prized axes. The neck is silky smooth the frets are flawless, no sprouting or sharp edges, intonation is spot on and the sound??? Well, I doubt you'd be able to notice much difference between the Elite and this SE. It balances well, the neck radius is comfortable, and for the topping on the cake, the second tone knob is not for the middle pickup, it is actually for the bridge pick up! Hooray, no more 'ice pick through the skull' when hitting the bridge pickup. And the 3 per side tuning keys work great with this, a touch of 'Les Paul' meets Strat combo. Super happy with this, which is probably the least expensive guitar I own, but in no was 'cheap' in feel or tone!

The SE is well made and the detail in construction is a surprise, I realized I was buying the budget PRS John Mayer and was willing to accept a lesser build but I am please to report that this guitar is really well made, it plays beautifully with minor adjustments. I am happy to be doing business with ZZSounds, my credit score isn't in the stratosphere, I always pay my bills but that means nothing to most sellers, today one's credit score is everything and stops millions from purchasing items on time. BELIEVE THE HYPE!!! This SE is AMAZING. The frets are perfectly polished and neatly dressed on the ends. Bends are effortless. Sustain and tone are off the charts. Perfect throaty, chimey neck pickup sounds. Intonation is perfect out of the box. The tuners are very precise. The photos don't do justice to the actual look of the color. It is beautiful. All with a high quality gig bag.

Just got in the Dragon Fruit color SE today for my daughters birthday. She loves playing my USA Silver Sky so I decided to get her this which is hard to get in this color at the time or writing this review. Unboxing:When I opened up the boxes it comes in a super nice SE case that is almost as nice as what my usa came with. The guitar had so much sustain un plugged it's crazy, it sustains and blooms just like my USA model. Stunning to look at, online pics does not do it justice.Pickups/switches/knobs:Are different than the USA HOWEVER I think I prefer them over my USA pickups. They have the clearity but deliver more punch. All electronics, pots,toggle switch ect are great no noise when switching or turning volume/time down. Same knobs as my USA model.Neck:Let me say feels so good, if you own or have owned a USA model they are very close to the same and you should not have any problem with small,untouchable changes. The back of the neck feels worn in, almost like a satin finish that's been sanded down. Very smoothQC: Over all I believe the QC is a 10/10 PRS did this right and knocked it out of the park! No fret sprout. Smooth edges no finish mess ups very clean! Summary:Get this, I'm a huge fender fan and love the silver sky USA, but if I'm being honest I'll almost always prefer this over a fender mid range price range and also over some higher end ones. If you're on the fence don't be. Hop on over to the silver sky and play your heart out.

I’ve been playing my silver sky SE for a few years and I’m very impressed with its quality build and excellent sound. I almost ordered the core model but after watching Phillip McKnights excellent review I was convinced to buy the SE and I’m not disappointed. I’m going to order the locking tuners from zZounds just to have them, the existing tuners work fine but I just prefer locking tuners. Phillip McKnight did a thorough tear down of the SE and I was impressed how close the SE was to the core model. PRS hit a home run on the SE and I have no regrets buying this beautiful instrument. Two thumbs up!

I received this guitar a week ago in Moon White and after a few personal preference adjustments I find it hard to put down. It stays in tune and I love the neck radius its perfect for my playing. I own several Core guitars and have owned several SE Guitars and By far this is my favorite SE model. It Plays well and can do anything my fenders do and now this will replace them for gigs. This guitar is well worth the money and I am thinking of purchasing another one. AAA+++

Beautiful guitar, love the shape and design. Plays great! Tuner's are decent. Great addition to my arsenal. But.. Had fret burrs and some high frets, had to have my luthier work on it. Other than that I am pleased with it. The pickups are pretty good. I changed out the capacitor for a Orange drop.

I ordered the PRS SE Silver Sky in Moon White from zZounds and I received it in just a couple of days. I checked it out thoroughly when I took it out of the box. My only criticism was a bad case of fret sprout on one side of the fretboard from the 6th to the 22nd fret. Since I'm experienced at lutherie, I cleaned up all the fret edges myself. With that done, I can honestly say I love this SE version of the Silver Sky. It's comfortable to play and sounds great. I like what PRS did here. Now I'm left with a dilemma. Do I buy another SE Silver Sky to leave in E-flat tuning? Or, do I wait to see if PRS releases a SE Silver Sky with a maple fretboard?

Over all feel and playability is nice. I bought it because of all the positive things I’ve read/seen. However QC let this one slip. The bridge pick up doesn’t work. I’ve yet to open it to check it out but it’s on my list of things to get done. Some fret buzzing out of the box which isn’t anything a set up can’t fix but just be aware electical issues can happen

I purchased this SE Silver Sky in Stone Blue from zZounds. As always purchasing gear from zZounds is an awesome experience! Sadly, this guitar hasn’t lived up to the hype, or at least the one I received hasn’t. I opened up the gig bag expecting great PRS quality, and with so many thousands of people ecstatic with theirs, my hopes were high. Sadly, my high hopes dropped immediately, with the action being the only thing left that was high. The action on this guitar is almost three quarters of an inch high off of the 12th fret! The fret edges weren’t much better either. Very sharp up and down the neck. Of course, these issues could be taken care of by a tech at roughly $100, or a few hours of my time. I don’t believe that should be something necessary on a PRS. Paul states over and over again in interviews that PRS guitars (even SE’s) are stage and studio ready right out of the box and that PRS guitars don’t have to take to a repair man out of the box. If those two issues aren’t bad enough, the quality of the maple on the neck is terrible. It reminds me of $50 First Act guitars. There are knots in the wood and dark discoloration from the third fret to the eighth fret, covering most of the bass side of the neck. I have wood working experience and the maple on this particular one that I received, is low quality at best. It was probably made out of the pallet they brought the good wood in on. Overall, the Silver Sky I received is a complete mess. Hopefully I can work out a solution with the great zZounds customer service team. I really expected to receive a guitar that was at least playable and am quite disappointed. I am unsure if I should risk getting another one or not, but the thousands of other customers couldn’t be wrong in loving theirs. Hopefully this poor quality isn’t consistent in the future, as I have always chosen PRS for their impeccable quality.

I had such high expectations. Finish flaws, rough spots on the neck, fret markers not sanded flush, chips in the rosewood, horribly cheap tuners, blemishes in the paint. Seriously what $900 guitar arrives with finish flaws? They rushed these out to meet demand. Do yourself a favor and wait. Pickups are decent for stock. That's about the only pro.
