"My favorite guitar"

First off, just have to say this was my first purchase from zZounds, and it went perfect. They were the only place online to have this and I found it after looking for months. The shipping was fast, product was well packaged. I like their return policy, although I will not use it on this purchase. Second, this guitar is my dream guitar. It sounds so good and is so easy to play while looking amazing. Mine is the black top. They all look good though. The appearance of the dark black top and black bird inlays against the lighter fretboard and the solid wood back is a thing of beauty. I have not had to change the strings yet, and I've never done that on a Floyd Rose, but there are tons of videos on how to do it, and the trade off for it being in tune all the time will be worth it. This is the first guitar I've owned that doesn't have any fret buzz. If there is a downside to this guitar, it's that the black finish seems to scratch with the pick, but you can't see it unless you are seeing it with the light reflecting perfectly and you're looking for it within an arm's length away. To be precise, the matte finish scratches, but the paint doesn't. Just seeing it across the room, you can't see the scratches. But would have been better if the finish was more durable. This is a guitar I plan on having basically forever, so I'm sure it will develop scratches and other types of "character" and I'll be ok with that. I didn't know who Dustie Waring was before seeing the guitar, but I saw some of his interviews (seems like a talented, thoughtful dude) and he describes this guitar as a "depedable workhorse" which I suspect it will be. This is my first PRS guitar and it's so good, it could be my last, but I am so impressed it probably won't be.
Sound
Sound quality is excellent. Has excellent intonation. Pickups seem very versatile.
Features
I like the idea of a Floyd Rose. I like the locking tuners. I love the woods used. I like the color scheme. I like that the volume and tone knobs are off to the side a bit more, as I find myself hitting them accidentally less frequently than my other guitars. I like the 5 way switch to give me any combo I want out of the pickups.
Ease of Use
All that I can say, is the neck feels perfect for me and it seems to have a quality that makes it easy to play. Necks are a personal thing, so maybe this doesn't work for everyone, but I like it. I have an Ibanez with a Wizard III neck, and this isn't as thin as that, but I think I like the size and shape of this one more, and I love that wizard neck, but this one is more comfortable and easy to play for me. The Satin finish is comfortable to play on. The weight seems nice, with it being a bit on the lighter side.
Quality
This seems like a guitar made to extremely high quality standards which isn't surprising given PRS' reputation for that. How do you describe the feeling of "quality?" I don't know, but it just feels like that.
Value
Maybe not for some but for me it's a bit on the pricier side. But I suppose for a signature guitar from PRS, and compared to other more expensive PRS's with their feature set, this one seems appropriately priced. For some, especially those that don't like a floyd rose, this will not be as good of a deal as the regular CEs. If you want a CE with a tremolo bar, this is good. I think one of the appealing things to me about this guitar was that in a way it was actually unique in PRS' sea of flashy, bright, shiny guitars. The black color and the matte finish appeal to me more, and I just thought it looked awesome. The fact that it scratches easier makes me think a resale would be harder, but they seems to be in high demand so who knows.
Manufacturer Support
Have not had to deal with PRS yet.
The Wow Factor
This is my dream guitar in the sound, feel and looks of it. It's more guitar than I deserve right now compared to my skill set, but it makes me want to play more and get better at guitar just so I can rock this beautiful instrument.

"Awesome Axe"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I purchased a Blemished Gray Black Model of this Guitar & it's without any doubt an Awesome Axe.I've been dealing with zZounds for many years now & I can't say enough about how much I love dealing through this company in all aspects. zZounds is my Go To For Gear Company for Sure. The Dustie Waring CE Guitar with a Floyd Rose Tremolo is absolutely my newest & now Favorite Work Horse. It's got a Satin Finish that allows excellent ease of use specifically for the Neck. The neck's not too thin & not too thick, it's in my opinion the Perfect in Between Balance from an Ease of Use Aspect. When I first got it, it was very apparent that it had somehow been altered. The Action was Way too High, there was Buzzing especially at the 7th Fret Area which is Primarily the Area I play most at on Above Open String using 7th fret Octave chords to Articulate Patterns in my Style of Playing. Songs like "Just Got Paid" by ZZ Top, etc.It took about 20 minutes to lower the Floyd Rose to near bottom out position, then removed the plate cover & adjusted the neck for proper intonation. Everyone has particular ways to do this, I put a Capo on the 1st Fret and pushed down on the last fret & used my .70 pick as a feeler gauge, tuned up & have been Rockin Out as much as possible since. The Maple Neck glides & feels like you're skating on Ice across it.The Tuning Machines are Tight & Well Constructed. The Floyd Rose Tremolo is Extremely well built & it amazes me that I can go full dive or pull it through the roof & it maintains the proper tuning. G String on Les Paul's & Strats going out has been a Pet Peeve of mine for over 45 years. Problem's Finally Solved. My Favorite Aspect of the Guitar is the Pickups. These DW Mojotone Tomahawk Pickups are just Brilliant & Articulate whether playing clean or getting down & dirty. The Volume, Tone & the Five Way Blade Switch are positioned behind the Tremolo Tree which I really love. No more accidents with hitting the Volume Knob. The Design of the 5 Way is extremely easy peasy to remember. It's a Common Sense Set Up where position 1 all the way back is Bridge Pickup Alone, #2 is Full Bridge w/ Split Neck PU.Center #3 is Full Bridge & Full Neck, #4 is Full Neck & Split Bridge & #5 is the Full Neck Pickup Alone.Extremely Easy to Use & Remember. The Black Birds really pop against the Maple Neck. This Guitar is worth each & every penny that I paid & I've got no complaints or problems w/ anything. If you're in the market for a Premium Constructed Work Horse then I think you'll definitely Love this Instrument especially if you're wanting Strong & doesn't have the weight of a Tank that'll give you back problems after you wear it all night long. This is my 3rd PRS Guitar I've got an SE Paul's Guitar Charcoal Burst & a Natural Dark Wood Seven String Mark Holcomb & Love them all. I've also got a Gibson Les Paul Studio 1990 & a Fender Stratocaster American Made & they take a back seat to all of my PRS Guitars. Hope this review helps if you're in the Market for a Dustie Waring CE Guitar w/ a Floyd Rose Tremolo. You'll be best served by purchasing it at Zzounds because mine's not ever going to be for sale as long as I'm alive & rockin.
