"Great value Really nice guitar"

Just got this last week and it’s a great guitar! The Pickups are clear not muddy like most lower priced guitars.Fretwork is top notch and even though I’m sure the nut is plastic, it’s still cut well.Ive played $2000 Les Pauls where the nut was cut wrong and the high E string would come off the board. The only issue I have is with the tuners ,which are just OK. On mine you have to turn the D string almost 2 rotations to get any change in pitch and the tuners overall seem to slip.I will be replacing them and possibly put a graphite nut in as well, which is probably a $50 fix.Watch the PRS SE factory tour in Indonesia on YouTube. They have a dedicated factory just for SEs and no other brands. If you want a solid ,great sounding guitar at a low price, this is for you.The only other thing I would change is to add a treble bleed circuit as well because you lose a lot of highs when turning back the volume just a little but if you run volume wide open all the time it’s not an issue.

"Great guitar - once you brick the tremolo "

I totally agree with one of the other reviews that describe the tuning issues - however, once you brick the tremolo system, that problem goes away. There are many ways to do this (google it). I usually do this with most trem systems because I hate having to “over bend” notes to compensate for the “give” in the bridge. That said, I think this guitar is a good value for the money. The neck feels like a PRS - real easy to play. The pickups sound nice (better in Humbucking mode in my opinion - the coils taps are nice but I don’t know...). The binding on the neck and body is a nice touch.

Just got this delivered today. I am surprised how nice of a guitar you get for this low price. I didn't even have to do any neck adjustments. It plays great out of the box, just had to tune. The clean sound is actually better than my Gibson SG, but the SG does push the rock better. But, this guitar is a keeper. Had to rate manufacture support even though I haven't used it..

Beautiful guitar. Some imprefections. There is a dark spot on the underside of the head stock and theres a minor fracture on the binding on the neck. Being the baseline model I'm not too upset about that. Feels and sounds great. Dont really hear a difference from the neck position to the middle position though. Tremelos very nice. I used to own a se custom 24 but now got this and I dont regret it. Hope to have it for many years.

This is my very first PRS guitar. Always wanted one, never could afford one. I kept hearing people saying nothing but good things about PRS wether it be the craftsmanship, playability, features, sound or just simply how they look. I just found out about the SE series very recently, had the opportunity to try one out that belonged to a friend and I was a bit surprised with it. I couldn’t figure out how I felt about it at first. It was lightweight despite being made of mahogany, which is the best tone wood in my opinion but I’m used to Gibson’s being very weighted. I was struck by how comfortable it was to maneuver up and down the neck, how the frets didn’t have a single rough edge. They were well polished and crafted. The pickups sounded too good to be true as well. They have a really crisp, clear sound. Accenting every note played, being able to hear each note harmonize with the other. It was hard to believe this level of quality and sound was that affordable. I recently went ahead and took the leap, and getting to play it a second time around, I fell in love with it. The first time I tried one, I had no clue it featured a coil split. That’s one thing I really appreciate about any single guitar is how versatile it is. Basically you have the best features of a Stratocaster and Les Paul at your disposal. Wether you like a warm, crunching Humbucker for rhythm, or a clean, crisp neck single coil for a melody. you have those options available in one guitar. Absolutely no modifications needed. As far as the bridge goes, I’m still on the fence about it. It’s a great reliable bridge. But I feel like it can’t reach it’s true potential without locking tuners. Which, this guitar doesn’t feature but are available as an upgrade. So I’ve got some locking tuners on the way now. It’s a very solid bridge. The best way I can describe it, it’s a super simplified, but at the same time very delicate Variation of the Original Floyd Rose. It’s a floating bridge. Much like a Floyd has to be parallel to the body, string tension balanced with spring tension. I really enjoy it. Not so much of a process changing strings as it is with a Floyd Rose. And great if you don’t do well being patient. Over all it’s a very high quality guitar for the price. Typically you get what you pay for, but in this instance, PRS has been very very generous with the craftsmanship and features. It’s dang well near too good to be true! I wouldn’t recommend this guitar for a beginner. Solely because of how delicate the bridge is. If you mess around tightening, loosing random screws it could really mess this guitar up. And it’s too good of a guitar to “learn” that kind of thing with. This guitar is great for intermediate players to professionals. You absolutely cannot go wrong with these guitars. They amazing! Well worth the investment, and you get back a level of joy playing this thing Thats hard to describe

I always wanted a PRS but have not been able to afford one until I purchased the cherry and may I say that the picture on the site does not do it justice. It's absolutely beautiful. The sound it produces is better than i could have hoped. I find myself playing and just enjoying every moment. I highly recommend!

I have been playing for 52 years. I have owned dozens of guitars. I finally purchased a PRS semi hollow last year and claim it to be the best of my collection. I have Gibson, Fender, Ibanez, Epiphone and more. I purchased this guitar because I was curious to see if it would be comparable to the similarities between Epiphone and Gibson as I have been very happy with my Epiphones. I am still blown away at the perfection of this Indonesian made unit. It plays like butter!!! I wanted the blue as most my gear is blue but the cherry was available,,, now I’m considering buying another and get blue. I can’t name a better playing guitar. My American made cost over 3 times the price and they both are amazing. Hard to believe,, wish I had this one 40 years ago. I wonder now how well the Korean models are made.

"Tuning Issues"

My first PRS and probably my last. I purchased the new 2018 PRS SE Standard 24 in Cherry. Beautiful guitar and seems to be well constructed except I could not get it to hold tune at all. Adjusted neck relief, checked intonation which seemed spot on, checked to make sure tuners were tight, used some graphite in the nut slots, stretched the strings. I worked on it off and on for 2 weeks before returning it. PRS talks about how all Asain made PRS guitars are well set up in their USA facility but something was wrong with this one. Not real impressed with the sound of the pickups through my Blackstar HT 40 MKII either. I replaced it with a Gibson Les Paul Studio and couldn't be happier....I know the Gibson was about $500 more in cost but a $500 dollar PRS ought to at least stay in tune!! Sure, I could have taken it to a tech but don't feel that I should have to spend $50 bucks (or more if it needed a new nut or new tuners) just to fix something that PRS claims to check!! I have a feeling the issue might have been in the trem system. Oh well. zZounds was very good with the return process.

I don't get the bad review about tuning issues, my standard 24 was in tune and perfectly set up out of the box. The only issue I had was they forgot to put the whammy bar in with it, but all it took was a phone call and they shipped me one right away. I have 3 Stratocasters and have had many Les Pauls in the past and this is the best of both worlds. I have band rehearsal today and I feel confident it will impress my bandmates. For under $500.00 it can't be beat, in fact I would have expected it to cost way more. Do yourself a favor and buy one while they last, because they are selling out fast.

I ordered a blemished tobacco sunburst one and can not find a blemish on it. Lucky me. This is the first new guitar I have bought that right out of the box, it was set up perfectly and IN TUNE. I couldn't believe it shipped about 1,000 miles and was in tune. The other reviewer that had tuning issues apparently got a bad one. This guitar is rock solid. I own 3 Strats and over the years have owned many Les Pauls too. I wanted a humbucker equipped guitar ,but without the Les Paul weight, and found it with this guitar. Sounds great. Looks great. Buy one.
