"Deciding to buy your pro-level turntables? Don't buy 1200s without considering the TTX."
Verified Customer
zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
These things will eventually replace the 1200s as people eventually get wind of the features and quality of the turntables.
Sound
Just as good sound with the phono level outputs as properly grounded 1200s. Your needles will be the limiting factor here. Line level and digital outputs allow for superb sound quality.
Features
Pitch lock, interchangeable tone arms, 10%/20%/50% pitch adjustment, reversible configuration (battle or normal), EXTREMELY high torque, digital backlit display (easy to remember how fast a song needs to be since you get x.x% readout)
Ease of Use
Plug it in. Turn it on. You're spinning records.
Quality
Thing weighs a ton. Very solidly built. Only parts that move are ones that are supposed to. Basically you have to drop the thing to even come close to damaging it.
Value
Retail price is blindingly high ($750) but it's almost impossible NOT to find these things at about half off.
Manufacturer Support
I give support a 10 because the thing was so solidly built that I've never had to even call Numark.
The Wow Factor
Only 1200 purists will find any fault with the design or function of these tables. The lighting of the TTXs also looks really cool in a dark club.

"The best turntable. Period. (read why)."
A great deck. Worth every penny. Don't cop Tech's.... Cop TTX's BOY!
Sound
The sound response is great. I wouldn't be able to name an exact range, but these tables (paired with some quality cartridges) have a great low end and a very crisp high end. And of course, everything in between sounds great.
Features
Just read the description. These decks have so many dope features, it's ridiculous. The interchangable pitch slider and rpm buttons are a god send. I have mine set up battle style and having the pitch slider verticle is the only way to fly. The keylock is sick for remix purposes. I only use it on acapellas. If you go to far one way or another on a beat/music, you get a little reverb, and cuts tend to sound flanged. But all in all, a great thing to have for us HipHop DJ's. The BPM counter is useless to me except when sampling, but half the time it won't pick up a steady beat. The adjustable start/stop is definitley a hot feature. And the motor? Pssshh... don't even trip. It has nearly twice the torque as a technic. The thing starts like a CD player, straight up.
Quality
Built solid. Each deck weighs nearly 30 pounds. It is a solid core draped in rubber. There is virtually no feedback when you tap the body of the table...... VERY well built. The platter is mad rugged as is the motor. Nearly twice the Torque of any Technic! Ha. Thats so dope. The motor is ridiculous.
Value
Generally, in musical and audio equipment, you get what you pay for. These turntables shatter that cliche. For the price you pay (360-400) you get so much more turntable..... Not only do the features, quality and sound surpass Technics, so does the value.
Manufacturer Support
I'm not sure. Haven't had to deal with them yet...
The Wow Factor
Definitley catchy looking and after reading the specs on paper, i had to have a pair. Like i said, i was a FIRM believer in Technics, and these turntables changed my stubborn mind.

HipHop, Rare Soul, Funk and Jazz....

"good job numark!"
i figure these will go for a very long time...they were used for years before i bought them and they are still in like-new condition...if anything i would save these for the studio and get some used 1200's for playing shows if i were playing a lot of em'...
Sound
come on now these babies got s/pdif digital outs, internal grounding...i bought mine used and there is no humming at all...pretty much any turntable should sound good though considering sound has more to do with your needles and cartridges, mixer, cables, amps, and speakers....
Features
features are truly endless on these, especially if you pair them with a dope mixer like numarks dxm06 like i did...im not gonna list the feature s since they are <<<just to the left there....but trust me they have more than any other table in this price range...
Ease of Use
plug em' in and jam...takes no time at all if you know how to connect audio equipment and understand amplification etc...not even a groundwire to mess wit'...
Quality
people dog on numarks for not being as durable as technics, stanton, or vestax....i mean i don't beat mine up but they are heavy as bricks and have super hi torque and even low wow and flutter (less than .03% which ties stanton and vestax for 2nd next to technics @ .01%)....not sure why they made it so the motor is not adjustable on these (they were adjustable on first generation ttx's) but i really don't care...i have one of each and the are pretty much the same, except one is older...
Value
i gave em a 10 but i got em in beautiful used condition (for half the retail price)...the previous owner took great care of them just as i do...have no regrets but if you just need a quality set of tables these might be a little much to spend...i would probably have gone with some stanton str8-80s or 100's or vestax or used technics 1200's if i wasn't such a sucker for features
Manufacturer Support
i actually contacted numark about getting some tone arms and they were more then helpful even tho i was only going to spend like 30 dollars and i didn't even end up buying one (i'm stickin with the s-arms)
The Wow Factor
i don't think there is a better looking turntable, but i don't think this should even be a consideration if you're buying any sound equipment cuz its about the sound not the looks

"2023 Still Going Strong."
Let me start that I do not DJ. I purchased new 2002 if memory serves. My TTX 1 has performed flawlessly. I have never removed the platter and today run an Ortofon Red cartridge. The sound through my Sunfire amps to Paradigm 11 speakers is great especially when driven hard. I would honestly recomend after all these years. No hum or vibration at loud volume and pair with a good cartridge and you may be shocked by the sound quality.

Numark TTX1 Turntable Customer Review
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
very satified is all i can say!!!
Sound
the sound is great. I use shure M35x needles. With the straight arm it does seem sensitive to me touching the record and sometimes easier to feedback through bass vibrations. If it is a big problem i change the arm which you can't do with other decks. I usually go for the "s" arm because they have excellent groove holding abilities as it is and they don't feedback so much on big sound systems.
Features
main features i ejoy are the 8%,10%,20%,50% pitch options plus the key lock makes it easy for me to spin anything with anything. I spin techno so throwing on a hiphop track on doesn't sound like chipmunks. unfortunately the key lock doesn't work if you have the turntable hooked up with the phono out. you have to change it to the line out on the back and to your mixer's line out which i didn't know when i bought it. luckily my mixer had line in. I know some don't.
THe switchable arm is awesome. YOu have a revers swicth which is funs and easily changable brake and start times. the ability to swithc the display form regular style to battle style doesn't come that in handy for me but i have used it to minimise space.
THe motor is tough and and strong and makes it smooth to mix with.
Quality
One has a ground hum on mine but you can only tell if no music is playing which is rare. I want to fix it but i just don't have the money to try right now.
it feels solid not like all of the rest of numark's stuff. They are heavy as hell and i have almost thrown out my back trying to carry them. Don't try to put them in a coffin case together. you won't be able to carry them that way. it will be too awkward and heavy. i got two case one for each.
Value
i think they are worth it. I have been on tech quite a bit and i still think i like these better.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't had too much problem with them for my decks but i had a PPD9000 mixer that didn't do what it said and they really sucked. So i hope i don't have to go through them to fix anything on these.
The Wow Factor
these are the sexiest decks i have ever seen. they make all other decks look neanderthal. A beautiful mix between smooth metal, a gray rubber surface and blue lighting. SEXY as hell

"OPEN YOUR EARS TO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!"
I'm not trying to replace this product,I'm trying to build around it.
Sound
The TTX1 is serious. I was born and raised in this HIP HOP. These tables are official. When I scratch the sound quality is bangin yo ! With my NUMARK TTX1 I put the STANTON discmasterII jumpoff. These two products work together like best friends. These turntables have so many features, you can add to your style of play just because you want to use a feature that you did not know you had the option of useing. Feel me! Such as the reverse button and the jumpoff next to it that allows you to dictate weather when you press stop the table stops slowly or stops on point. Bottom line try this table, you won't regret it.PEACE,KNOWLEDGE
Value
I'm not gonna throw the company name out there but the turntable that every publication that I've read said was the industry standard has compitition.

"GReat product for the price.."
probably the best turntable out right now.. The Vestax PDX 2000 MK2 is gonna be good, but I think the TTX is still the better buy.
The Techs MK5 is probably the one turntable that will get it done to compete with the TTX, but it is just way too expensive right now!
Sound
I have the TTX with DJ Banana Carts..
American Audio makes them... I think the sound is spectacular!
Features
Great diversity... I still think they are worth the dollar I paid for them.
Quality
yea, it is made very well..
I have heard people saying that the platter wobbles.. etc.. BUt I never had a problem.
Let me give you a scenario: I have used my TTXs for almost two years now.. I have logged at least 20 hours a week every week for the past 6 months. That is not including the time I spent on them back about a year ago..
And I work these babies HARD!!! I have backcued, scratched, held my hand down on the platter and stopped and started a hundred times to see if they bit the dust. They are still like new!!
I think they are gonna go with me for the long haul.
Again:
20 hours a week for 6 months straight= 480 hours of hard mixing...no change in startup or torque
Value
great for the money. I do, however, would like to own a pair of Techs MK5 for just the hell of it... (not that the TTX is bad or anything)
Manufacturer Support
never had to use this one!
The Wow Factor
yea, I have them

In my opinion, imperfect people can't build a perfect machine, but this one is close. I feel like I could drop it on concrete and it wouldn't stutter. I do get some feedback, but that's probably because my left loudspeaker is inches away from my set.
Sound
I couldn't believe how loud it was using the line RCA out's. When I decided to use the phone out it was 40% louder! I use a DXM06 2-channel mixer, which has a very sensitive phono pickup, and had to switch back to RCA out because you could hear the unlatching of the tone arm clip, it wasn't subtle either!
Features
This is the most feature-packed turntable on the market. The standard/battle-mode configurations are top-notch. I will say that when the key lock is pitched more than 8%, the sound is phased a little. Better than having slow or chipmunk voices! Girls love the blue light...trust me!
Quality
Built like a champ, Numark is making quite the reputation these days.
Value
Money well spent. I don't get tired of looking at it. Stanton's STR8-150 is definitly a competitor, but I still choose the TTX.
Manufacturer Support
I had a problem with my mixer's crossfader, and the customer support was very promt. They sent me a new crossfader less than a week after my e-mail. I was very pleased. There's no such thing as perfect (10) customer service.
The Wow Factor
I still research the damn thing, and I have owned a pair for a few months now.

"MAKE WAY THE NEW KING HAS COME"
Sound
The sound quality is amazing. even when using the line level output this deck just sounds great
Features
all the featurez you could ever want from a pro deck, interchangable components, masive pich range, reverse switch, ajustable start & stop times, key lock, digital, line and phono output, digital display, removable power and phono leads, what more do you need.
Quality
i would give them 9 out of ten on quality for the simple reason that one of my s shaped tone arms was slightly tilted so the quality control must have missed this, i am using the strate ones just now.
Value
yes very good value for money, only a few pounds more expensive than techs and far more features.
Manufacturer Support
no comment yet.
The Wow Factor
take a look for your self man.
