I'm happy with what this unit has feature-wise. Yes, I will be upgrading in the future just because DJ Software/ controllers are becoming more popular and useful, but it doesn't hurt to keep this as a backup unit for what it has to offer.
Sound
Very nice sound. Although I'm using Sony MDR-V150 ($20 at your local Wal-Mart), it's probably the reason why my headphone Cue sound is a bit lower than expected. Cranking the Cue Gain does help a bit, but it's not noticeably different.
Features
For the price, you can't beat it. Numark hit the ball out of the park with this unit. For a $350 unit, you get 2 CD & mixer combo. The CD functionality is as follows: MP3 playback w/ ID3 tag capability,Folder search function, Auto BPM/ TAP function (very useful when mixing), 4,8, & 16% pitch range w/ Keylock (Just like master tempo on CDJs, adjust the speed of a song without affecting the pitch), seamless looping function with reloop, and pitch bending. The jog wheel feels very well built, it does have a scratch feature, which is more of an effect, than a feature, because it will not stop the song unlike on turntables or pricier CDJs. The mixer portion of the unit is very nice. Before Numark would not include a 3-band EQ on any of their CDMix line of units, but now you get 3-band EQs on all your channels! You can also hook an iPod/ AUX to this unit as well, which is very nice as a backup.
Ease of Use
Any professional or amateur can use this deck with ease. It does not take a genius to work this thing, it is very laid out like most traditional dual-CD units. If you want to use turntables with this or other CD players it's possible, just hook it up through the rear of the unit in the line/ phono ins. You can also connect an axillary to this too, if you have a backup CD player and such, so it'll basically be a 3-deck unit!
Quality
This unit is very well built. The faders feel very sturdy as well as the jog wheel, and the cross-fader is smooth, although you won't be able to scratch with it, it is user replaceable just in case it does go bad in the future. Nothing feels cheap about this unit at all!
Value
For what I paid and what features this unit has to offer, I am very pleased. I don't think there is any product on the market that has what this has to offer for the price!
Manufacturer Support
I have not dealt with Numark as far as warranty issues or anything with this, but e-mailing them on more information on this product, I did not get a response, but they're probably really busy. Then again, many at DJForums.com say that Numark's product support isn't the best, but I can see why, with all these new amazing products coming out from them!
The Wow Factor
The look of this unit is very professional. The black/ gray color scheme is very nice. Everything seems in place on how Numark designed this product.
