I’ve had my Novation MK3 Launchpad Pro less than 24 hours.I’ve looked at a few videos, but I’m finding having a hands on experience is the best way to learn this.I’m stuck on chord mode, which is a good thing.I actually play the piano, but these chords will have you playing outside of your level.Sensitive pads, sustain pedal button, Ableton, what more could I ask for, but more time.I’m going to take my time learning this, however I know after I finish learning this I will start making my music again, but with more fire!!

"Excellent standalone midi controller"

This is an excellent standalone midi controller. I don't have need of the sequencer, but Note and Chord modes compliment the main device I'm using the Launchpad Pro to control which is a Maschine Plus. I slightly prefer the pads of my Maschine plus, but I was pleased to find that the pads of the LP Pro while smaller and maybe even more sensitive than the legendary pads of the Maschine, are extremely playable. And with 8 custom banks, with 64 programmable pads, the possibilities of how I can put it to use in a midi chain are pretty much limitless. It's much more compact than a 61 key controller, it's got some strong features for controlling synths, drum modules, or hardware samplers. If I were only working with a computer in a DAW? The LaunchPad X or another version might suffice. At the same time I've heard that the sensitivity of the pads is more consistent from one Launchpad Pro to another than it might be with other models, so I probably would have opted for the LP Pro regardless.
