I have the M32 USB keyboard for travel and wanted a full 88 Key midi keyboard. I already have Native Instruments Komplete so my new S88 works very well with all my NI software apps. The keys have changing lights thbat are compatable with NI music. If you are playing with a variety of strings, each set will have a different color to help guide you.All my NI products have worked well with my Studio One DAW.Loving this!

"An Amazing Controller For Composers!"

The title says it all, wow! How can I put this into words? The features of this Smart Keyboard overall are phenomenal, my favorite is the finger ribbon control under the pitch + mod wheels! You can easily view your favorite instruments and VST plugins selected by your hosted standalone Komplete Kontrol app or as a plugin source inside any DAW along with the built-in screens which you can then edit your instruments to your liking! I’m a Cubase Pro user and also have been using the dual screen feature as monitors so I can see what’s going on with my mixes. I can also tweak my plugins via MIDI Learn! The quality is extraordinary, I find the keys suitable for my fingers to adapt to, the LEDs are very colorful when picking an NKS Library, and I find it very easy to use and guess what… NO STRESS! It’s very well worth the grab for me not only as a composer and a producer, but also as a sound designer, musician and singer. This never leaves my studio, EVER!

"Komplete MKII 88"

The moment I installed the S88 MKII and open up in the Komplete Kontrol browser The Giant VST preset Intimate sound i was amazed by how it sounds with the Amazing Fatar Keybed action. I own a yamaha montage 7 and it sounds really nice but the Fully Hammer Action from the Komplete MKII 88 is another thing. Been having so much fun playing Una Corda, Noire, and the Scarbee EP and oh man how amazing it connects to the keybed action, super happy with my purchase. One thing i might dislike about the MKII is the lack of sliders and so but in the case i got my Korg nano controll that backs me up. 9/10

Nice feel to the keybed with the FATAR keys. Lightweight at only 40 lbs. Works great with NI software just does not play well with others. Difficult setup and unclear installation instructions. It is important that you follow the installation exactly as it tells you to save yourself a ton of time. No DVD with the software you must download it from the web and it takes a long time. The included samples and players are fine but lacks most acoustic instruments. NI sounds and sample paks are expensive compared to other 3rd party suppliers just make sure that they are compatible with this system. Many require the use of the KONTAKT full version, unfortunately, NI only ships you Kontakt player 6 which is available as a free download anyway the upgrade will cost you another $400.Customer service is basically non-exsistent from Native Instruments. They are not really interested in interacting live with any of their customers they prefer to handle everything online and then at their leisure and if at all. CUSTOMER SERVICE sucks which is why the low star rating. If you are able to find compatible software to run with all the bells and whistles this keyboard actually has come cool helpful features to help you lay down beats and arrange music. The problem is as a controller it does not play well with all but a handful of DAWS so if you happen to be using a DAW not specifically supported by this instrument don't buy it unless you do not mind buying yet another DAW and forking over even more hard earned cash. You must run Komplete Kontrol on a computer in order to interact with the keyboard which means if you use it to gig you will most definitely need to set up your Laptop which most rigs do anyway.I wish I could say WOW to this unit but I have been having nothing but problems getting it to play nice with all more other PLUG-Ins and my go-to DAW Mixcraft 8 pro. After spending much money and many many hours on projects in MC I am not ready to start in a new DAW just to work with this instrument.Comes with no manual, no pedal, only one USB cable which is rather short and a power cord wall wart. Although it says it will run off of USB power it does not you need to plug it in.
