This is an incredible overdrive or clean boost. The lover range of the drive is especially great, as the dry signal is mixed in with the dirty. Using it in this way is great for gain stacking, as it allows the character of other pedals to shine through. Not like a Tube Screamer with the huge midrange push, this pedal adds something magical and indescribable to the sound. I have considered adding a second one to have a clean boost with the dirtier direction. I have compared it to many pedals like a distortion +, Raijin Drive, RK5 Fly Rig and a Luther Drive. It plays well with each of these pedals and does not get fuzzy or over-compressed. Never having a Klon Centaur I cant compare, but I see no reason to look elsewhere for a tone conditioner or overdrive. As an “Always On” pedal I see nothing that can be improved. Try it and you will see, especially with a tube amp!

This pedal will give you a nice transparent push, or if you crank the knobs you can get it to sound real fuzzy, or even djenty dare I say.
