Took a week to ship cross country to me but I was impressed when I opened the box the bar is monster solid like a weight lifting barbell and the base is immaculate low profile and stable only I wish the bar was chrome not black. All steel design. No wobble. The onstage mic clip fits perfectly at the top. Really impressed at this. I can see how the 12 inch would be a bit more massive Im convinced of you play guitar and sing you want the 1-0 inch base so you can get closer without having to step on the base. Takes 30 seconds to assemble this thing. No instructions needed. The clutch to raise and lower the inside tube is very very good all metal and smooth as silk. The inside bar raises and lowers very smoothly. This stand is excellent and a no brainer. If you play guitar you NEED this even if its just to practice how to rock n roll.

Looked at many stands -- I wanted the low profile base so that you can step on it if you have to. The 12 inch base may be too big if you want to get close to the microphone so I ordered the 10 inch base-- also the 10 inch base is 25 dollars cheaper than the 12 inch base. Also this has has 6 rubber feet instead of just 3 on some Atlas stands.
