I've been playing guitar for over 25 years and have owned all types guitars and makes.But this Luke 3 is like no other. First it arrived ready to play. Flawless setup and the quality is perfect. Played out of a Marshall and Friedman and it smokes. Very diverse sounding guitar. I really enjoy the sound on each pick up switch selection is the same. Meaning the output on volume is consistent. As Steve mentions, it is between a Les Paul and Strat. Two of my favorite guitars. The feel of the birds eye neck is just fantactic. Great output on both pickups but volume rolls down nicely. Perfect guitar for any style of music. I fell onto this guitar by accident and what a great find. Weight is perfect, not too light and not heavy.Finish is very cool and beautiful. One thing to keep mind. Frets are not jumbo and may need time to get used to; but it did not take me long. I play the Luke 3 everyday and difficult to put down with the many sounds that come out of this ax. Do yourself a favor and get one of these today. zZounds is the best place to purchase period. This is probably one of the best factory made guitars in existence. This guitar arrived in flawless shape (even though it was purchased as a blem, still can't find the defect). There is both clarity and punch to the pickups. They are almost perfect. Guitar is noiseless in all positions (including the single coils) and the volume level is consistent in all pickup positions as well. This is the first guitar I've ever owned that can make that claim. Honestly, other than putting my own strings 08 - 40's on it and a slight adjustment, I have done nothing else to this guitar other than make it my main gigging guitar. I currently have Suhr, Gibson, EVH, Fender, Fernandes, Guild, and have even had PRS both core and SE lines. For fit and finish, this was equal to my Suhr (which also came in perfect condition). The only reason this has surpassed my Suhr as number one is the boost on the volume knob. At first I thought it was somewhat gimmicky but after using it onstage, I find it gives me a freedom from my pedal board that I've never had before.
