Here is the honest truth no if no buts. The bass is really nice if you know how to set it up yourself. It has a fret right by the nut which I like but the action was too high had to file the fret down very carefully. Can't mess that fret or you might end up putting a new one in. The strings it came with I did not like. It made the bass sound bad. Too much fret buzz..The frets were not shiny they were more like dirty and not rounded. The neck is a little too wide but that do not bothers me.The finish and the neck connected to the body was very good no gaps. So, after filing down the fret that is by the nut and bringing down the action to my liking, cleaning and reshaping the frets, adjusting the truss bar and puting a new set of Richard Coco strings on, tuned it for final adjustments this bass sound awesome with a real bass amp. With all of that, that I did to it, I got this bass action almost as low as my guitar action with no fret buzzzzz. And that's my honest opinon. By the way forgot to mention, the bass is very light you could play for hours and it will not hurt your shoulders. And that's what I was looking for. I do have another bass but it is too heavy.
