I still have the first Marshall JMP 2203 head that I bought new in 1979. Other than changing the tubes many times, the amp is original, and has never given me any problems. I have no plans to get rid of this amp, ever. Time will tell how long this amp will last, but I tend to keep my gear. If it were to be stolen, I would look replace it with another one just like it. I use both Marshall and Fender amps, and have had great results with both brands.
Sound
I am very satisfied with the sounds this amp produces. I use a Marshall 2-12 extension cabinet some times. It works well with all of the effects pedals that I use. Works well when recording as well.
Features
I like the foot switch that comes with it. It gives me three different sounds, plus the choice of reverb if I want it.
Ease of Use
It works well with all three of my guitars. It works well with my other amplifiers. It works well with all of my effects pedals. It works well when recording. As with any amp, you have to know how to set up your sound.
Quality
I have not had any issues so far. I have good road cases for all of my equipment, and recommend transporting this amp in a road case. I also have an excellent amp technician, who sets me up with top of the line tubes.
Value
Any good amplifier is going to cost you.
Manufacturer Support
So far I have not had any issues. My amp technician says that Marshall has good technical support.
The Wow Factor
I don't thing about gear from a "sex appeal" stand point. It looks fine, and so far has not given me any problems. It works well with the other gear that I have.
