"Great pedal platform"

Very good tonal range in this head, covers the spectrum great. So whatever you EQ desires, you can get there with this head. The three settings are great, this is a loud head and it still wants to be pushed to fully max out its potential. My only issue is I wish it had more gain on tap, it reaches the edge of breakup at gain all the way w/ boost engaged. If you like to live in this area or want to use it as a pedal platform then this is perfect for that. I also wish the effect loop was on while the included pedal is not plugged in, you have to have it plugged in for it to work, however the effect loop is not really needed since there is low gain on tap, so I keep my delay, etc in the front and after my Tube screamer and it sound fantastic. If you run a good OD pedal you can do anything with this amp, great full sounding head for a great price! zZounds is the best in the online business, get one on their plan and get it fast!

First off ive been around a few years,I used to listen to 50s rock via my sisters phoneagraph,For me it starts with the Beatles,60,70,80s rock also ive head more marshalls than most, this head not to sound corny has an organic feel ive never heard before i was surprised, let it burn in all day dont try it for a few hours and make a decision this head will do 60s,70s no problem 80s itll need a little push, not much from a good overdrive. Powrscaling is nice but to get the true flavor buy a powersoak. At 649.00 this is a steal.

"A plexi 50-watt 1987XL amp at half of the price"

I own two of these 50 watt monsters and they are so close to the 50-watt 1987XL sound it is mind blowing the only difference i can point out is it lacks a little in low end but not by much and that can be remedied using a quality boost pedal of your choice.
Sound
A 50-watt Marshall 1987XL that is made in Vietnam factory rather than made in the Britain factory with the name origin instead of 1987XL. The sound can easily be colored by your favorite guitar pedals.
Features
The origin amp like the Marshall 1987XL is bare bones no frills loud as all hell tone monster that you can shape the sound of with pedals.
Ease of Use
Well it wont take rocket science or knowing non linear equations to dial the origin in.
Quality
The origin is made very well i have yet to have a issue with my oldest one i own that still has its factory tubes and all factory components.
Value
Yes yes yes and yes
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to give marshall amplification a call ever i swear by marshall amps for that reason i wont play anything else they're quality is impeccable.
The Wow Factor
Its a marshall amp they all sound good marshall amplification and fender amplification are the OGs of tone you cant go wrong with a marshall tube amp or a fender tube amp in my opinion.

Let me start out by telling you I do ALOT of recording . I write and record my own music for the commercial market . I own several amps ... a couple of them are Marshalls . I've primarily played Marshalls since the late 70's so ... I'm well acquainted with what a good tube amp sounds like . I purchased the ORIGIN 50H specifically for the classic rock and blues sound ..... and BOY .... does it deliver !! I paired it with my Strat and after a couple of minutes adjusting the settings ...I was blown away ! This amp delivers a warm, clean and very dynamic sound that records beautifully . At this price I have to say .... it's one heck of a deal . In fact ... I'll probably buy a second one soon . By the way FYI ... I pugged the head into my Marshll 4x12 1960A cab at 16OHMS .

I am a semi-pro guitarist and songwriter . Also own and operate a recording studio . I have been playing for better than 30 year

"Great classic 70s style amp"

I cant say enough good about this amp for the price, with one caveat. This is a very low gain amp. Even with the onboard boost and gain all the way up it is very low gain, be sure you are aware of that. That said its got a wide open plexi-ish tone with headroom. Put a Boss SD 1 or tube screamer in front of it and you have late 70s to mid 80s hard rock tones. I did not try a modern high gain pedal in front of it so I cant say on that. This is far better for practice volume then the Marshall Studio Vintage as it has a master volume. At this point its not versatile enough for what I do gain wise and didn't want to have to buy a bunch of pedals, but amazing for what it does at an unbeatable price.

This is an awesome amp that can compete with a 100watt. I run a Boss ME80 into it and my cabinet is Marshall 212 seventy/80 celestion speakers. I stand next to the drummer and it's volume is loud. Would I play without the effects... yes but this head was made for effects. I am using fender telecaster HH tidepool blue they were made for each other
Value
This amp is worth the price. Play at home or gig.
Manufacturer Support
I had to call Marshall and ask how to connect using 4 cable method and they explain that the Mono left connect to the return on head and guitar plugs into ME80 using only the volume and presence of the amp leaving you to have to tweak your effects. Customer service at Marshall gets 5 stars.

"Burning smell when I turned it on. Tubes white hot, sounds terrible."

I wanted to try this amp, (This will be the last amp from zZounds) Anyway, turned it on, stench of burnt epoxy coming out of the amp, left it, kept working, but got very hot, tubes glowing white, Plugged my analog pedals in the loop, guitar in front, sounded like dirt, EQ controls had little effect, gain almost non-existent. Whichever gain pedal I boosted with made the sound crumble, re-tubed it, nothing helped. I believe one of the transformers melted some windings, amp going back....
