"take it from a pro"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
no plans to replace it. i trid this amp out and knew that it had the sound i wanted. i would buy this amp again.
Sound
after 36 yrs of playing, 20 yrs on a pro basis, i like this amp better than any i have owned. finally a marshall that is not only control-able at low volume but has a great clean sound good enough to play serious country if you need to. i have never been an effects man but have used pedals in the past. just throw the damn things away.this amp has so much great guitar tone that if you know how to play pedals are not necessary for most music. i suggest that if you buy this amp make certain that you pair it up with a 1960 av vintage cabinet. use a srat on the classic clean channel and get a great poppy country sound. swith to ultra gain 1 and rock!!!this amp works well with my paul as well, but the weaker single coil pick-ups allow the player to crank the amp more which i like.
Features
standard foot switch. works well...the reverb is this amps are the weakest feature. fender has a much better reverb, but a much weaker sound..
Quality
i have owned several marshall amps. all seem to be satisfactory in quality
Value
all amps are expensive . this one seems to be a good value all things considered
Manufacturer Support
i have not contacted support
The Wow Factor
this is a good looking amp, however i bought it strictly for the tone..i would like to note that the 4x12 bottom allows 2 of the speakers to point upwards, thus no need to set the amp up on a stand tabe, chair, etc.

"a classic guitar player's wet dream"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
If I play anything else it will be a triple-rec from mesa. however, since i'm poor i'll just keep playing my marhsall.
Sound
As far as tone is concerned, the DSL100 and TSL100 are amazing. They're really thick, ballsy and a the same time really smooth. They'll never have as much gain as a mesa, however, they do rock. Great sound.
Features
Marshall definately kept it simple, there's only two channels, but the e.q. is simple and the tone shift allows you to really customize your sound. Reverb is really clean too.
Quality
No problems yet. small tear in the vinyl, my fault. Build solid, haven't had to change the tubes yet.
Value
Definately a better value than Mesa, but still only for serious guitar players who want a great sound.
Manufacturer Support
No service needed yet.
The Wow Factor
Classic marshall style. Looks like brit-pop and rocks like grindcore. fan-damn-tastic.

"THE BEST AMP EVER CREATED!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Buy this amp or you are a complete jerk. It amp that I have ever used and nothing compares to it. I will never buy another type of amp other than this...BEST AMP EVER CREATED.
Sound
This amp is a monster! I played through Mesa Boogies, Peaveies, Soldanos, and Fenders and this amp just sounds better than them. It has an amazing low end but also responds very well to higher pitched notes. The clean channel is also very good. You can use this amp for everything from Earth, Wind, and Fire to Metallica.
Features
What more do you need??? It has an amazing clean channel and it has an amazing distorted channel and it has built in reverb. It also comes with a footswitch. For me, it is perfect.
Ease of Use
...a two year old could operate this amp...its very simple, but it still has enough features on it and it can produce many sounds...it is once again, perfect.
Quality
So far, I have had nothing go wrong with and the amp seems reliable. It seems very sturdy and solid and has no "flimsy" or delicate parts to it that I can see.
Value
It is worth every dollar spent. I would not trade this amp in for anything. Yes, it is expensive, but it is totally worth the money.
Manufacturer Support
I am not sure...nothing has gone wrong with my amp.
The Wow Factor
It has a very good "I want it" value. The Marshall head just looks menacing, plus, you can brag about it and no one will be able to say anything about your amp. lol. But seriously, the Marshall name and the fact that almost every great guitarest has used and/or owns a Marshall makes this amp "just that much better."

"It's a power mutant tube Marshall...."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I do love it and will keep it long time...but the build quality is suspect.
Sound
Classic Marshall sound. Good classic rock overdrive and decent clean...not great.
Features
Should be able to set different tones for each channel (can do with reverb but not freq).
Ease of Use
...even a caveman could do it.
Quality
Been in the shop twice....need I say more?
Value
Gives you what you want and is louder than you will ever need.
Manufacturer Support
I'm out of warranty...no idea.
The Wow Factor
Come on...it's a classic tube Marshall!

"the chameleon"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
love it, its amazing, versatile, ballsy, mine is reliable, and best of all its made in britain, and maybe even jim marshall himself walked past it while it was being made
Sound
it sounds bloody great. the first time i played it in the shop i used a jeff hanneman esp, and i sware with emgs and the gain cranked on this thing, it seriously blows a recto away. its tight, focussed, and just seems to bite back harder the harder you hit it. responsiveness, that is what this amp is all about. i also used a tokai love rock and managed to get a beautiful singing crunch out of the crunch setting on classic gain. a real valve tone, that even an army of distortion pedals cant begin to mimick, let alone represent. great clean as well, not as weak and distorted as past marshalls ive used. it goes from death chunk metallica 80's stuff to hendrixian biting, back to 60's cream rock. great stuff
Features
i love the features, especially the dual reverb, because i always use a little more reverb clean than distorted. my only gripe is no separate EQ sections, but this is no big deal as i use an eq pedal if i want a mid boost, or as to do it the other way round, a mid cut. other than that, 4 channels is great, and its so easy to use, just plug in and nearly instantly have the tone you want.
Quality
i cant rate here as ive had mixed reviews on marshall quality. this one thankfully has lasted 2 years no problems. its heavy as, and is solid. i always run my marshall away from the wall with a fan behind it just in case a tube or two combust!
Value
you get what you pay for. you want a marshall you know you will have to fork out. think of it as a major investment, not an expense. you wont want to sell it, unless you like muddy rectifiers or overprocessed peaveys with no open valve roar
Manufacturer Support
never even spoken to marshall, and went back to nz rockshops to say how much i love it and how it was worth a mighty. good stuff
The Wow Factor
its a marshall. everyones heard of marshall, even the girls who crowd around it. it has appeal, but i dont wish to make love to it, that would be kinda messy and disturbing. it does look nice, the black on gold never gets old, EVER!
