I have used the Martin Retro Monel strings on my vintage Martin 000-M, my USA made Martin DX1 Dreadnought, and I anticipate that they will deliver the same excellent tone after I install them on my brand new Martin 12 string that coincidentally I brought from here. They seem to sound best on mahogany body guitars.
Sound
Round core as opposed to hex core strings.Martin Guitar dot com illustrates the difference in the installation technique that optimizes keeping these strings in tune. Not difficult just different from using hex core strings. If you’re a fan of the acoustic tones from the 70’s and prior then you’ll probably like these strings.
Features
Great strings.
Ease of Use
Just start playing.
Quality
Yes. They’re made by Martin.
Value
Yes. You can spend more on strings but why?Not coated but they tend to deliver a longer life span than most strings.
Manufacturer Support
No problems so no need to require support.
