"Excellent Tone and Playability"
After a number of trips to Guitar Center to Take this Guitar off the wall and play it, I decided to purchase one. I currently own Three Guitars, My best one and one that I play gigs with is a Taylor DN3 with a Lyric Mic Pick-up. Needless to say this is my favorite for a number of reasons. Easiest to play, Sounds the best, to name two. There is a negative however. Sometimes Sound System doesn't like the Lyric Mic Pic-up,,,,Feedback and no Volume at times. The other 6 string is a Peavey DW-3 which is a great, $400 guitar, but the neck at the nut is 1.625 which makes for capo issues up the neck. The last one is a Takamine 12 String, and it has no faults. I needed a second 6 string that was close in Tone and overall Performance to the Taylor DN-3 and I believe this Martin does this and more. I was also considering a PRS Acoustic but could only find them on line. I had to visit my local Buffalo Music Store to return a pedal Friday and what did they have? A very "Cherry", (Perfect), GPCPA5 for $499, a Trade for an signed Electric. I quickly took it in hand, Checked it out thoroughly, Plugged it in to test Preamp, and Laid down the cash. What I really like about this guitar is the Playability. The neck is just a bit wider than the Taylor and easier to play, especially with a capo. The tone is close to the Taylor and Plugged In it will be more consistent, and any tone difference will be minimal.
What Luck!
