Martin GPCPA3 Performing Artist Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Case

Almost bought a taylor 414ce and that would have been a huge mistake. For all solid east indian rosewood constructions you're usually looking at 2600+ and if you shop around you can have this for considerably less. Best sounding guitar in the price range hands down. I docked ease of use a 2 stars because the F1 Aura is a tough learn, but its really worth it once you know how to use it.

"A mind blowing guitar!"

I give it an overall 10 because I expect it to last me a lifetime and keep me happy.
Sound
This is an excellent guitar in every category. It's kind of like a Taylor 414ce except with rosewood! The tone produced by rosewood just can't be matched in my opinion and this guitar can hold it's own against the higher priced Taylor 814ce even. It has a very balanced tone and a great feeling neck. The tone is awesome.
Features
The Performing Artist series has the Fishman F1 Aura and no other electronics compare. You get a real acoustic guitar sound for the first time live without a mic. The system recreates your guitar's natural sound with 9 world class mic images at your disposal. The guitar is light years ahead of the competition.
Ease of Use
It is very nice. It did need a set up but you should always expect that with a new acoustic. The only reason it gets only 9 stars is I think Taylor gives a better factory set up even though this guitar blows theirs away in this price range or even a couple hundred more. It's very similar in tone to the limited edition Taylor 414ce with the rosewood back and sides but I'm going with this baby for the Aura. I will never get rid of mine. A must have for the serious performer.
Quality
Martin quality. I looked mine over with a fine toothed comb and it's flawless. Martin is on top of the game with quality control. This guitar is very well built.
Value
I hope I never need it
The Wow Factor
I really love the Aura system but the tone of this guitar is enough to sell it.

I expect it will last a lifetime
Sound
Martin tone that sets this instrument apart from other brands
Features
The first time I saw this thing it caught my eye and stood out to me from all the other guitars in the store (even guitars triple the price)...then I played it and Wow! I came back to the store about five times and eventually bought it. At that point, I knew I had a great guitar but I didn't yet know just how nice it was. The more I play it the more I love it. The tone is beautiful and very balanced. The highs, mids and lows ring so clear. It will need a little bit of tweaking with the set up but that is to be expected with any new acoustic. They play it safe with the set up so a player can set it up to suit their individual tastes and styles. I am a pro musician/recording artist and I do about 170 shows a year. Yes I am a full-timer. I have been playing a Taylor 810ce for the past five years or so and I think this guitar may be my new favorite, although my 810ce is still very sweet. I just love this thing. Fine craftsmanship and detail....but it's the tone and feel of this thing that sold me. It's a truly great instrument that any pro should be proud to own. The Fishman Aura system is second to none. Sure there may be a bit of a learning curve but just like anything else just take a little time to learn what it does and you are in business. The Aura blows away all other systems and reproduces the actual acoustic image. Try one...you won't be sorry. Martin got it right with this series. Look out Taylor...you've got some serious competition!
Ease of Use
This guitar plays like butter and sings like a bird.
Quality
Awesome attention to detail. Some people may think it's plain looking but I think it's one good looking instrument.
Value
I got a great deal on mine so I'm giving it a 10. I didn't pay the 2k sticker price
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed it but I'm sure they are great. I have met a couple of the guys from Martin during a Martin show and they were great guys. I'm going to assume they will be great and give them a 10
The Wow Factor
Now that I have this guitar I'll never get rid of it. Paired with my Taylor 810ce I have two very nice stage acoustics.
