I don't know why Fender would put the lousiest pickups in their Telecaster Deluxe, but they made an otherwise nice guitar virtually useless by doing so. I purchased my Deluxe 7 or 8 years ago, and probably only played it about a half hour, total, in all that time. (I have other guitars) The pickups can only be described as garbage. Anyone even saying that they are "OK" needs their ears checked. So, after all this time, I decided to put in these Mojotone replacements. Not only do they sound a heck of a lot better than the originals, they are among the best pickups I've ever heard! These have a sweet clarity and a nice chime to them, unlike the dull, lifeless junk they replaced. If you have functioning ears, you will LOVE these pickups! Buy them!!!

Musical Background:

Been playing for over 40 years. Been in bands, but currently just play at home.

Musical Style:

Folk, rock, country.

The stock pickups in the 72 thinline ri are ok but not great. The are not like the originals at all. These are much more like it. I used 500k pots. Pickups are bright and clear. You can hear all the notes in a chord . No more muddy chords. Install is very easy. All hard ware was included. They sound very much as I remember my dad’s in the 70s. A great upgrade for Humbuckers in a Fender. I’m gigging them tonight. Nice chrome cover. Mojotone was easy to reach on the phone and had helpful advice on pots and switching options. American made.

Musical Background:

Four decades of playing and recording.

Musical Style:

Blues , Rock. All the rest.
