"A steal at this price!"

I'm a bit shocked at what you get for $700. Right off, I've been a Korg guy since the M1. Along with that, I've had a Trinity, Karma, Triton ex, TR61, X50, and M50. This is my 1st arranger, I didn't want to wait for the Korg PA1000 to be in stock so....This board is silly good. It would be a steal at $1,200 or 1,300. The touch screen is the most responsive I've ever tried. The onboard speakers are clear & Loud! I can't speak for longevity, but 9 hrs straight of messing with everything and not a single hiccup. The keys are as good as anything I've had on Korgs costing 4x as much. The build quality is surprisingly good too. Like I said, I'm shocked. I don't think I'll get the korg pa1000. I may just get a Krome to pair with this and still save a grand. Oh, and the majority of the sounds are great. The Styles are great, drums are punchy, the buttons are excellent, knobs feel great. A steal at this price, get one b4 they're gone! *zZounds got this into the hands of FedEx super fast. I ordered monday morning at 7am using Pay as You Play. It arrived this Wednesday morning at 10:30am! I'm also glad they no longer use UPS.

I ordered this keyboard because I heard it was a cheaper alternative to the Yamaha SX Series.Starting off the sounds are alright, the keybed is decent, although the whole Yamaha thing isn't really true, Medeli makes a free software to convert Yamaha styles to Medeli format which barley worked for me, being that most styles on Yamaha keyboards use factory sounds and the factory sounds on this keyboard weren't that good.I would definitely recommend this keyboard to young ones starting out but Definitely not if you are planning on going professional.

The sound on the Keyboard side is amazing, unfortunately on the vocal mic side it is very weak, even though it has a built in vocal harmony, you can't hear the mic volume without turning the keyboards sounds very low.

"Good for Beginners..."

Despite the lackluster number of stars I am giving this instrument, it is a solid performer for beginners. But there are a few things that really hold this instrument back from being a have for beginners. If you are thinking about gigging with it, you should spend another $400 or so and get an entry level Yamaha, Korg, or Roland.
Sound
The sounds in this instrument are hit and miss. That's to be expected in an instrument that boasts thousands of sound patches. They can't all be winners. Personally, I think that the drums are the weakest category of all with the "dozens" of kits being comprised largely of a single kit with a slightly different tuning to the snare, or a different tom to separate them. Also, many of the keyboards and pianos seem to be just slightly tweaked versions of each other as well.
Features
This keyboard has crazy amounts of customiztion abilities. Each instrument patch can be customized with its own effects and what-not. Then, it can be further tweaked within the confines of the 4 part "band" that you assign (Left, Right 1, Right 2, Right 3). And it is all reasonably intuitive once you have read the instruction manual.
Ease of Use
Getting great sound from the instrument is NOT as easy as it should be. First of all there are eight "velocity curves" to choose from. (Soft 1, 2, 3; Normal 1, 2; Hard 1, 2, 3), yet there is virtually NO DIFFERENCE in volume depending on which you choose. And getting a 127 on the velocity pretty much requires the use of a hammer! Furthermore, there are short throws behind the keys so once you have to move your hand towards the back when playing accidentals the volume gets even lower, and pressing the keys but getting NO SOUND AT ALL becomes frustratingly common.
Quality
FOR THE PRICE, this instrument seems to be fairly well made. If this cost $4000 it would be junk! But it's less than $800 at the time of this review. Still, though, the keybed absolutely SUCKS! And that is the most important part of a keyboard. The C# 1 octave above middle C can be wiggled 1/4" side to side. That's the loosest key on the board, but the other accidentals are also rather sloppy. And (as should be expected at this price) the keys themselves are non-porous, non-textured hard plastic that gets quite greasy adter a couple of hours playing. Combine those issues with the bad accelerometers and the short throws, and you have a mediocre playing experience at best.
Value
This instrument is worth the money, as long as you manage your expectations. The first synthesizer that I ever purchased was a Yamaha MODX7. And it was simply too much instrument for a beginner. It was daunting to even dig into the menus for fear that I cause some irreversible chaos internally. Having sold that (when COVID nearly killed me), and ending up with this as a replacement, I really wish that I had bought this rather than the Yamaha. It has been invaluable it helping me cut my teeth in a user friendly way. My next synth will be one that costs 3-4x as much as this, but the cofidence that this instrument has helped me attain is EASILY worth the amount I paid for it.
Manufacturer Support
THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT FROM MEDELI WHATSOEVER!!! This is the most unforgivable problem that I have encountered. When I first got the instrument, the "Grand Suite" software wouldn't recognize it at all. (That is the software that lets you make your own custom patches). So I went to the support website. They prompted me to create an account by giving my email address, name, and completing a "captcha" in order to prove my humanity. I was then told that an automated email would let me finish setting up my acount. THAT EMAIL NEVER ARRIVED. I tried to do it with my GMAIL, YAHOO, and OUTLOOK emails in case there was an issue with the services. NOPE! A second option at the support site allows you to just directly submit a ticket without creating an account. I also tried this, and got NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER! Every week for the first 3 months I tried to create a support account, and it simply can't be done. As a result, I haven't registered the instrument for warranty purposes, and if something breaks, I AM F***ED!!! This is the main reason that I am only willing to give this instrument 2 1/2 stars out of 5
The Wow Factor
The appeal of the product largely rests with the price. You will be hard pressed to get these features in a different similarly priced instument. Personally, I would rather get (many, many) fewer sounds of higher quality, but there probably is something for everyone in here. If I didn't need a synth (or other keyboard) to make good music, I would NOT buy this. But, in that scenario, I wouldn't buy ANY synth, not just THIS synth. Just pray to God that you won't need customer support after the zZounds return window closes, because THEY are the only people standing behind this product!
