The good reviews are accurate,so glad we chose the ThumpGo! Perfect for use with battery-operated GT-1 guitar pedal and Zoom vocal pedal. We mix on Focal monitors and also use a second mix set-up with two Mackie ThumpGo's and powered sub to test our dance tracks. The ThumpGo's were plenty loud and punchy enough but the high end seemed "masked",so we dowloaded the control app and fixed it with an EQ boost in the highs. Battery took 90 minutes to charge and we ran them nearly wide open for 5 hours to break them in,with barely any charge used(trance dance works great for break ins). Amazing unit for tailgating or parties; it's also a darn good stage monitor or guitar modeling amp. I'm still amazed they sound so good with a 12 or 15 inch sub in stereo rig. These are a bit expensive but well worth the investment. App get's a lot of hate but it does the basics well, which is all we needed. No bs, Mackie DID get these right!
Sound
Plenty of punch, really good full range sound
Features
The app is essential kit. EZ to use
Ease of Use
No physical EQ,the app does that. Be careful! It defaults to volume 10.
Quality
Nice tuff molded plastic and colors. Never seen a cab attract dust like these do,though
Value
Worth the $ but we waited and got ours on sale on Cyber Monday at discount. Still, worth it
Manufacturer Support
Yes,but not for this item
The Wow Factor
Looks as cool as it sounds

These are what they say they are. I judge products from my real world use of them after 40 years in music. Small light, the big question,??? the battery. I ran these at 60 per cent volume for 5 hrs and the battery light didn't come off the green. Very impressed.I am using these for music playback. The tones hot all of the right notes and yes they have thump. I bought 4 !The bluetooth and linking work as they say they do.The link setting stays in position even when shut off so when you tun them back on its quick, sound reproduction is great. Thanks Mackie! And zZounds was super fast !

The sound quality is good but as far as using the link feature for linking up the speakers you cannot use one XLR cable to link up both speakers to have sounds coming out of both speakers wirelessly. The link feature is only to adjust the settings with the buttons on the back of the speakers simultaneously. What a missed opportunity!!!

"Great little speaker"

Bought one a few months back.Solid speaker, heavy built, but easy to sling around. Decent sound & battery life. Just know what you're buying. It's an 8" speaker so don't expect it to hit like a sub. Great for blasting some tunes on the job site or anywhere else you want. Bluetooth works great but don't get too far away.

I bought an interface based upon a review here that I did not need. If you are playing a guitar live, and this ain't loud enough for you, you are deaf. TYh real problem is the basic EQ settings, which are not ideal for a guitar player, but if you choose the last option"sub", and put your tones about midway, you should get a fairly decent guitar sound (Epi LP). And for the size, it's plenty loud. Did not try a mic, because my voice is really loud. Quite pleased, however. Now the bad: it would be really nice if the app worked on Android. But it doesn't. And if the default EQ curves were better, that wouldn't be an issue. But they are not, and this is an issue. I'm still okay with this, but they really should fix it.

"Great speaker but interface sucks!"

I purchased the Mackie Thump Go battery powered speaker from Zzounds.com and its a great speaker built like a tank! Sound is good! However, the interface sucks! You need a phone app to use the eq settings and the knobs on the back are not very user friendly and you have to look at them each time you use them because they are not "in the dark" friendly. The speaker will NOT make you "feel" the bass either. It is great as a PA and for music that does not require lots of bass sound. It fails as a party speaker as you cannot feel the thump! Also it does not have an IP rating so its not water or moisture resistant! I think Mackie was trying to get into the blutooth speaker market to early and they need to do some improving on this.Great speaker for the build quality and loud sound but I would not buy this one again.
