"Perfect for my application!"

I purchased this after purchasing a much lesser priced unit. I won’t give brand name but I knew 30 seconds after powering up and trying my mic that it would not do the job. I had less than a week to prepare for an outdoor gig without my duo buddy. So I talked to the great people at zZounds and they took the lesser priced unit back and I had them send out the Mackie SRM-Flex. I even took backup to my gig because I wasn’t sure the Mackie could deliver. But.......to my surprise it not only delivered but it did a big time job. I was so relieved and happy I couldn’t wait to use it again. 2 weeks later I played an indoor pub and again very good. I’m so glad I got this unit. Now when I get my duo buddy back from surgery he will be blown away too. Thanks Mackie and zZounds.
Sound
It isn’t the best system for dialing in tone. I use a satellite mixer that has 2 mics, a guitar, a bass and a drum machine. I use the mixer into the stereo channel. The Mackie has plenty of range for what we do.
Features
I’m so glad it has blue tooth. I just use a set list from my iPhone when I go on break.
Ease of Use
Again it’s mixing capabilities has got a little to be desired. But the sound and power is very good with a mixing board in front of it. It also was very easy for me to hear everything without having to use in ears.
Quality
The quality build of this unit seems very durable.
Value
I would say since I paid $500 for the prior unit that was terrible and $900 for this unit that works flawlessly then I think it’s money well spent.
Manufacturer Support
I haven’t had a need to talk to anyone about this so that’s a good thing.
The Wow Factor
It looks good, sounds good, and has covers to keep it looking good for a long time to come.

"Great speaker but..."

This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
These speakers sound amazing. No question about that. They are very easy to handle and set-up. Super light and look good. The only issue I've had with them is when chaining two of them together. The output of one speaker would completely overwhelm the input of the other. Got this squared away with an email to Mackie support. I got a quick and courteous response that was helpful. You need and xlr female to 1/4 male cable to connect the two. They aren't super loud. I got about 90db at 1m from a pair. 87db from a single. Great for a solo or acoustic act. They even do well with my rock band in small venues that don't require bass and drums in the PA
Sound
These speakers sound great everywhere I use them. I usually use them in conjunction with a mixing board. I have used them with the on board mixer and it works perfectly. The app is pretty limited. No more functionality in the app than what's on board.
Features
One of the best features on these is the built-in Bluetooth. The reverb is usable for vocals. Not great but not horrible. These pair well with my Helix Floor.
Ease of Use
Getting a great sound from these is as simple as turning them on. What comes out is what you put in. They do lack a bit below 120hz but not too much.
Quality
These things are built well. I've been using Mackie speakers and mixers for many years and they all still work just fine. I expect the same quality has gone into the flex system.
Value
The price is very good on the Flex. Compared to others of equal specs they are pretty cheap.
Manufacturer Support
Mackie customer service is quick to respond, courteous and helpful.
The Wow Factor
I needed something light and portable for my solo shows. I like the Flex so well that I started using them with the band in small venues of 100 or less capacity. They won't do more than that but they aren't designed to do more than that. If Mackie comes out with something comparable to the Turbosound IP3000, I will be first in line to buy a pair.

The product is simple to put together, comes with its own designed carrying bags, and super easy to transport. This unit is obviously designed for mobile musicians as the inputs are designed for instrument or vocals, designated by the switch on each channel. Reverb is accentuated on this unit and highs and mids are adjustable. For the mobile DJ, the bass adjustment must come from the mixer or controller, but be careful adding more low end, as it causes distortion/clipping identifiable by the red and green limiter lights on each input. The unit tells you when it is getting poor or distorted signal. For mobile DJs this unit works well with crowds of 100 or less, typically in low ceilings. I recommend 2 of its kind for a better performance at any mobile gig. However, because of minimal space that is needed for the unit and easy assembly and transport, this unit could function well on its own for karaoke shows, wedding ceremonies, and small backyard functions.

I bought 2 of these thinking they would work as s a mobile DJ rig. Once I got them, plugged them in and set them up in my living room. Not enough power, distortion at high levels and the bass response in anemic at best. 1 LD Systems Maui 28 G2 blows both of these out of the water by bass response, overall sound and loudness. Granted the specs are different, but what I am saying money wise the Maui is your better investment. I returned both of them after 10 mins of plugging them in.
