I've been producing music for just under 15 years. I've been a loyal user of AKG240's, and have owned some higher end headphones, such as Sennheiser HD600's, and several BeyerDynamic headphones as well. I've also been an avid user of Mackie Studio monitors. HR824 MK2's, and currently (because I have kids that cost alot of $$$) I have a modest pair of MR624's. I picked up the closedback Mackie MC250's on a whim because I needed to a pair of closedback headphones. My sony's had finally kicked the bucket. I have to admit, I didn't expect much more than 100 headphones. They're not particularly powerful. They aren't the most clear sounding headphones. But they one they do better than even my AKG's, is translate. So I can mix in these MC250's for hours, without any ear fatigue inside or out, take them off, and check the mix on my monitors, and I am hearing an incredibly well balanced mix that needs little to no adjustment. Being able to do that sort of thing, saves tons of time. In short, these 100 dollar headphones really present tons of value for my lifestyle. Open-back headphones are great if there's no one else around. These not only solved the issue of the wife always hearing me mixing, they also managed to become my favorite and prefferred headphones in the studio. They're incredibly good for what you pay for. Here's a track that I produced from start to finish almost entirely with the MC250's. https://youtu.be/Imsavxwi40A

"Good quality"

Very good monitor headphones with a fairly smooth frequency response. When testing with a 1khz to 30khz sweep there is a noticeable peak in the 8-10khz region. That translates to a somewhat harsh sound for say a strong female vocalist. But for acoustic guitar and keyboard, which I record with, it is fine. Love the straight cable as it is convenient with behind the keyboard headphone plug as I found a coiled cable very inconvenient. My only ding is with the zZounds shipping. It stated one day shipping but mine came FedEx ground and took 4 business days to get from NJ to OH. They should not promise something that they will not do.
