Expect long term realiability, will NOT replace it until it dies
Sound
Very clean sound, this mixer is the basis for my apartment home studio. I used the tapco line back in the 70's for live sound reinforcement, so mackie was a natural for me
Features
Decent features, high quality construction, the effects are about average but are clean sounding. An add on effects unit of top quality is being purchased to replace the on-board.
Quality
My particular unit was pristine in condition. No shortcomings in quality at all
Value
Are you kidding? A unit like this would have easily cost around $700.00 just 10 years ago.
Manufacturer Support
Hard to rte as I have not had any problems
The Wow Factor
Very usefull start for my home hobby studio-Just wish I had gotten the 12 channel

"Great mixer, impressive sound, outstandind effects! A must have for solo people!"

I plan on having this mixer for a long time and wanted something of a good reputation. One can't go wrong with Mackie. I am a one man band and this fits my needs very well.
Sound
The sound can't be beat! Very high quality!
Features
The features it has are good but it could have had a mid EQ with the hi and low. The vocal elimiantor does not work very well. It just muffles the vocals and make the rest of the music sound like it's going through a reverb unit. Effects are great and just the ones I need on a regular basis.
Quality
Very well built. The cable connectors are firm, cables don't just fall out or come out with great ease. Faders are solid too. No wall wart!!! Other companys should follow suit! The effects soud great! The best reverb ever. Chours is smooth and full. Flange and phaser can be used without hearing extra modulation.
Value
I never would have paid $300 for this. However when it went for $189.95 I said SOLD!
The Wow Factor
This is not the perfect mixer but it is close. The things I don't like are far out weighed by all the other features, quality and impressive sound. I've looked for a mixer for over 18 months. I've compared mixers over and over again and came up with this one. It looks better than all the others too.

"Make your Karaoke system come to LIVE!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This is the best Karaoke product I have ever had. And it satisfy my needs so far..... until I am beginning to think of recording through a computer.... profx??
Sound
Spend some time on the manual and do some "try and error" on the EQ while using it, it sounds great at this price tag.
Features
I used this at home for my Karaoke system, the EFX is just great. It also got Phantom for my SM87A too! Fine tunning is also far enough for my usage. The drawback I can think of is its lack of computer connections.
Ease of Use
This is my first mixer though. But it is not that hard when you read through the manual.
Quality
The AMP is great and quiet. At least I didn't realize any noise coming from it so far.
Value
Best value Karaoke mixer.... if you want to have better sound and not mind to do some presetting work. Forget all those rubbish Karaoke mixers.
Manufacturer Support
Never need this so far.... thanks GOD!
The Wow Factor
I just can't compare the old days without this little monster.

"I was blown away by the quality and I know i am going to really enjoy this Mackie DFX6."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
As a 6 channel mixer , brillant .
Sound
Man , I am absolutly blown away by this DFX6. I used it for the first time yesterday and at first it took me a while to get my head around it with the tweaking but today I did a gig and the sound quality top notch. I adjusted the five band stereo EQ to how I wanted it and even when I have the main volume at a low setting the quality is outstanding
Features
The effects are great I had mine on large hall, I play guitar and vocals.
Ease of Use
It took me a little while at first to tweak but once I did I am very very happy.
Quality
Very good quaity solidly built, robust and very good price.
Value
I think the DFX6 is worth a lot more.
Manufacturer Support
i think I am going to have this mixer for a long while
The Wow Factor
I did a gig a couple of years ago with a violinist and he had a mackie mixer and since then I knew Mackie spells quality.

"DFX-6 The affordable Mixer"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Sound
Quiet, Clean sound eminates from this device. I use it for home recording of guitar, vocals.
Features
The digital effects processor gives the normal range of effects that you would use for vocals or guitar. If I were to use it live an led to show which channels were muted would be nice.
Quality
It's main use is in the home but appears to be built to withstand the riggers of life on the road. All the parts areof heavy duty material.
Value
Good bang for the buck!
Manufacturer Support
The unit is brand new and had no defects upon arrival. After visiting the manufactures web site it appears they have a good set up for support.

"Got two of these and they both had a Hummmm in the left channel--"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
With the hum... what can I say? I'm getting an Alesis MultiMix 6FX. It has enough features for me and is $100 less. We'll see how that one wroks out.
Sound
The one I got on 12/30/07 had a hum in the left channel generated from the XLR output. It was surely coming from the mixer so I got a polite replacement from ZZounds right away... but.... Same problem with the new one. I called Mackie techs but they could only guess that there was a missing part or broken solder in the machine. With the hum the sound rating is 2...
Features
Good features, but with the hum who cares.
Ease of Use
Easy to use and set up but the hum...
Quality
I'd say they have a quality control problem.
Value
Hummmm
Manufacturer Support
The tech person at Mackie was good.
The Wow Factor
Nice product except for the hum

"Definitely worth considering"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'll keep this unless I find that I need more than 4 mic inputs
Sound
I found the eq options easy to use and able to give me the right sound I need. Even without the mid eq it sounded great. I run vocals and an acoustic guitar straight in and it is wonderful
Features
I would like to be able to have one channel have one effect--like Delay 1--while a vocal track has another--like small room. I still feel like I need to have external effects to do anything interesting. However, the effects themselves sound great.
Quality
Solid and heavy. Main slider was slightly bent on delivery, but I fixed it no problem.
Value
$189 seemed like a great deal for a board with effects in it. If I didn't already have a power amp I would have gone the Powered Mixer/PA route, but I am very happy with my purchase.
