I've been playing uke for about 3 years now and I always used cheaper ukuleles. I thought it was finally time to treat myself and get the ukulele I deserved. Not only did the payment plan provide me with the opportunity to have this instrument but zzounds got it to me in 2 days! When I opened it I immediately started to check it for flaws, but it had none. The sound is great (I always wanted a uke made from that legendary koa wood). The intonation is even better, no fret buzz as I was used to even with lower end lanikai products(it even comes equipped with Aquila strings)! The instrument is a beautiful as it looks in the pictures with not a piece out of place (I see you get what you pay for)! Not to mention the on-board tuner is priceless. Also I plugged it into my interface of my computer and ran it through Garageband and added some effects and it sounded better than I hoped for. It truly is everything I need. Now all I need is a hard case so I can make sure I'll have it forever. I can't even see myself needing another uke...ever. Long story short, buy it, and most importantly buy it from here-its about 80-90 dollars cheaper than other BIG online music stores.

I was just starting out, and wanted to buy something that I wouldn't regret buying when I became a decent player, and I actually paid the full price (before it was reduced) - which I do not regret in the slightest. It was/is totally worth it. The intonation is excellent, and the tuners / electronics / fretting / workmanship are top notch. I am docking the quality rating a half star for two very minor issues: 1) the plastic electronics box had a tendency to buzz on certain notes. I took it out (removes quite easily via screws) and saw that the plastic box had seams which were barely touching in a couple spots. I wedged a couple of small pieces of foam rubber where the buzz points were and poof, no more buzz. 2) there were a few teeny rough spots around the edges of the piping. A few touches with some very fine wet-dry sand paper (the kind you would use for a glossy finish) and the roughness was gone. These two mods rendered the unit absolutely perfect in every way. I LOVE how it stays in tune all the time!

I bought a Luna Ukulele as a gift and played which was much nicer than the one I had from Hawaii and I decided to but another. The Ck TEK is a solid instrument and I was amazed it was perfectly tuned right out of the box and has stayed tuned. It sounds great and feel solid. I love it. The on board tuner is rad!
