So I own the Boss Katana Artist Gen 3 and have now purchased the Line 6 V MK2 240. Both amps are 100% gigging amps. Both are extremely powerful and full sounding with the Line 6 having a little bit of an edge because the two speakers are running in Stereo which gives it an amazingly full and rich, fill-the-room sound. The Artist is more of a focused punchy sound which actually a lot of guitarist may prefer over the stereo sound so I shouldn't say there's an edge to either one because they're both fantastic in their own right. The Line 6 has 120 presets that can all be tweaked in so many ways, so that's an advantage and although some are unusable when you go to them you can easily make them more than usable with all of the ways you can tweak each sound. Obviously, dozens are great out of the gate and you can customize them to be even more to your liking with ease. The Line 6 also has a very accurate built-in tuner and I would suggest at least buying the express foot controller which is what I did and gigged with it the first night I owned it. It sounded phenomenal. Many compliments on the sound.I've done about a dozen shows with the Artist and that also sounds amazing so I can see that I'll be alternating these two amps for a long long time! In my humble opinion I now own the two best solid state amps on the market, and believe me when I say I've tried them all.

This thing is a beast. I play metal and it delivers an awesome time with the greatest clarity. Clean channels are pristine and balanced well. No need for $2000 stacks. Get this and you're set no matter what genre you play.

I have to say this is the best amp I have ever owned. Line 6 has put a lot of work into this amp.and it shows. I have had Marshals, Orange and many other amps and this one blows them away. Easy set up right out of the box. Easy to.learn and fun to play on. If you are looking for a modeling amp this is the one for you.

Been loving Line 6 amps for decades and this is by far my favourite. I really like how easy you can record your music directly from the amp via cable to your computer so it sounds perfect every time. The thing will rattle houses across the road so careful with you ears. The customisation is endless and i really enjoy playing with the different amps and settings built in. 100% good purchase i made 4 years ago and i have never had a single issue. It is not stage used so that may have added to its longevity, but either way its a great amp. couldn't be any happier! I play The Black Dahlia Murder, Slaughter to Prevail, Megadeth, Trivium, Suicide Silence, Buckethead, Lamb of God, and many more. They all sound crispy and perfect for playing along or making my own sounds. BUY IT!!!

"Decent Amp"

The presets are all too bassy and seem meant for bedroom rockers, but the amp CAN be tweaked into a good gigging amp for real guitarists. It's not a heavy amp, no real need for casters, and it's pretty easy to fine-tune existing presets to get usable tones. Supposedly 240 watts, eh, not really... a fifty watt tube amp is louder... still, it's loud enough for gigging small clubs. Built quality is solid, knobs seem secure, screen is easy to read. It's a good amp at a good price, but if you're buying it to gig with, be prepared to edit the presets to get all the boomy bass out of the mix. Sound-wise, it's good. It's not a tube amp, but it's close enough for gigging, without the headaches of tube amps. The built-in wireless receiver is a nice addition.

For clean and country it be ok but not for rock n metal! Honestly this is a huge disappointment.. line 6 used to be pretty good. This sounds like it's against a big brass instrument and is being sounded through the horn!!! I gave it several goes but it's horrible amp honestly! DOES NOT COMPARE TO A STACK! My Spyder 3 112 sounds 100 times better!
