"Good for the inexperienced ear."
i've had it probably over 2 years now and its not like i'm going to stop using it, but if i was married to it i wouldn't have a problem "committing adultery" with other amps.
Sound
i have the 112 version of this amp.
its okay. for the first year i was pretty impressed, but then as i got more exposed to marshalls and peaveys i began to dislike the tone. the clean channel is still completely excellent and unbeatable. but there is no way you are going to match a tube sound with this amp. you can squeeze out some pretty close van halen type sound, but the flange and phase are nothing like MXL's.
you can definitely get a variety of sounds so suit your playing style. responds nicely to changes between single coils and humbuckers. sound at low volume quite frankly sucks. you need to get up around 3 to get decent tone; before this the speaker adds none of its great sounding tone.
Features
doesnt incldude any stuff. just the amp. but then again you dont really need a whole lot. effects are okay when played through the amp. not suitable for direct recording at all except the reverb and delay. sweep echo is obnoxious and sounds silly. i would never use it for anything. tape echo is nice for maybe an older type sound, but thats not my style so i dont use it. phaser could use depth control becuase its so overpowering (same with the flange). amp lacks an effects loop so dont think about using your own pedals with it unless you are using your own distortion pedal too, but if you were doing that why would you bother buying this amp. get a crate and leave it on the clean channel w/ your pedals. blues model sounds pretty bad, verrrry muddy. the models on the right half are the best, except for the clean which just completely rocks.
Ease of Use
you can get any sound out of this amp easily.
you CAN'T get any GREAT sound out of this amp easily; you will need to do major tweaking to find something that fits your style because the stock setting just dont cut it.
Quality
quality is spectacular. well put together, looks very sleek, handle helps a lot, speaker is a good one.
why a 4?
THE KNOBS!!!
they move soo smoothly, so smoothly that they MOVE WHILE YOU ARE PLAYING!! you will find effects randomly changing setting becuase the vabration literally moves the dials a considerable amount.
and if your hands are shakey in a performance, forget about making a small adjustment on the volume, you will go from 5 to 8 by breathing on it (exaggeration).
Value
you get a really well made amp which comes semi-close to other ones for twice the price.
Manufacturer Support
havent delt with them, but their website is very informative and well made.
The Wow Factor
the led pattern when you turn on the amp is sexy. the amp looks really good on stage.

"sweet amp, buy it.."
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
i love it and think it will be staying with me for a long time.
Sound
this is a sweet amp. it has eliminated any need for effects pedals unless you are getting down to the nitty gritty of sound. it is an amazing sounding amp and can make almost any sound u can think of.
Features
so many features come on this amp, 12 amp models, 7 effects, its just awesome. i don't even use pedals anymore when i'm just playing in my house. all i have is the little FBV2 switch pedal so i can change channels while playing.
Quality
haven't had any problems with quality at all. looks gorgeous and has stayed that way.
Value
sweet deal for not too much money. 500 bucks will not get you much better if any. this is the deal right here if you only have 500 bucks to throw down.
Manufacturer Support
haven't had to deal with this issue yet, so it seems like a 10 to me :)

"Line 6 Amps, The Best Of The Best"
I expect to own this Amp till the day I die, or until Line 6 comes out with a new Spider.
Sound
What can I say about the sound. The effects and amp models give my guitar a very sweet and natural sound. The Metal sounds are also great. The sound totally grinds in your ears and shows you whos boss. The wide range of effect totaly tripped me out when i first tried them.
Features
Great. The Knobs to the Mid, Tremble, Cannel Volume, and Bass give me the EXACT sound I'm looking for. The effects are simply mind blowing to be built in an amp. The tuner is quite helpful. And the Extra Hold Tap Feature is very helpful and lovable.
Quality
This thing is very well made. I've been traveling around with it alot, and it took a few hits. But still sounds the same as it did when I first bought it.
Value
YES!! I used to have a Spider I 210 that I paid $500 for. Now, I got the 212 for the same price. the guitarist in my band has a Stacked Marshall, and the power of the Marshall can not match up to my 150 watt Spider II 212
Manufacturer Support
Haven't dealt with the company yet. Haven't had any problems. The reason I have to call the company is to tell them How Great this bad boy is.
The Wow Factor
I have never seen such bold looks on an amp in my life. Sometimes When I'm not playing with the amp, I just look at it for minutes with my Ibanez RG350 Standing right next to it. The looks are very bad ass

the quality is good but the amp sounds sharp and sloppy at the same time.

this amp is great for a beginner or just someone who is in a band who wants to use it to take to band practice to defanitly be heard over the drums.
Manufacturer Support
the support is horrable my amp broke and they didn't give me anything and the warranty was still good and everything but they said they couldn't fix it because there wasn't one of their UPS places anywhere near me so i couldn't get it to them, so they couldn't fix it so I was just out $500.00.

"Buy this amp, now!"
'nuff said.
Sound
Full range of classic and modern tones in one affordable, transportable package. And, it makes me sound like a better player!
Features
Lacks stereo ins, cd input, xlr outs, etc. Not a huge shortcoming unless you have no other sound source with which to jam along
Quality
No experience with Line 6 before but it seems like a sturdy, roadworthy piece of gear.
Value
Incredible upside when analyzed via cost/benefit. Okay, the shortboardis an expensive seductress. Nevertherless, great amp models and tones, wallshattering decibels, and ease of use for $500--kewl!
The Wow Factor
Great aesthetics on this box. The blackface, simple logo, angled controls and chrome knobs are sweet. So are the 12" Celestions.

"Alright amp"
A very decently good amp for its price range! I recommend it to those who like digital effects, power and looks for a cheap price.
Sound
Yeah, it sounds alright the first few times you play it but it gets old fairly fast. The sound quality is great but sounds a little too "digital" to my ears and a little fake. But i doubt your audience will even notice
Features
Lots of different amp models and lots of decent digital effects. What I really dont like is that the foot pedals have to be bought separetly and that how there arent separate channels or its own unique knobs for its channels, becomes a little inconvienient.
Quality
Its really well made for its price range! Good strong cab with nice speakers. I think the knobs look weak though even though they seem well secure. Dunno, the knobs "hollow" feeling tells me it wont last through moderate punishment. What else I dont like is its handle bar. I have the 2x10 and i carried it around quite a bit and the handle is starting to strech out a bit and its noticeable. I wish they installed wheels, it gets pretty annoying carrying around such a big thing a lot. But the corners around the amp are better than what I usually see. Made of nice sexy looking rubber, good protection for the amp and the things it runs into.
Value
Very good value for the buck. I wouldve paid a little bit more for a lot better amp though
Manufacturer Support
They were quite rude when I asked them about stock.
The Wow Factor
It is quite sexy looking for an amp. The strong grey colors with its shiney knobs. It looks a lot better than most Marshalls. But Id say the peavy JSX head or the peavy XXL looks a lot better.

Line 6 Spider II 212 Amp Customer Review
Sound
Better effects controller is really all this amp needs. Plus, the red insane model prooves how bad death metal is.
Features
11 of the Amp models are great. Effects sound great. Reverb is decent.
Quality
Great, you can dial in any tone.
Value
Great, except for some reason you need the shortboard to get all those other presets.
