"What I did on my summer vacation with my POD X3 PRO in my studio!!!"

POD multi effects are ALWAYS gonna be a part of my studio and live setups. If my POD were stolen or destroyed I would replace it post haste as it has become my "right arm" in the studio. I have used just about all the effects from all the mfg's and the POD is my choice over all of the ones I have tried or used.
Sound
After you have learned to tweak the POD X3 Pro you can find just about ANY sound you need for any occasion. I use it in the studio for the guitar, bass and vocals. With my Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 Guitar it is quiet, gets the sound recorded that I want and fits perfectly with my studio recording gear consisting of 24 track digital recorder, 32 track console and outboard gear. I can clean up or use effects on vocals and bass without having to change to another effects unit. If you cannot find a sound that is what you are looking for, then you are not using this unit to its fullest!! No one will use ALL the sounds or effects nor will all them be what you are seeking, but everyone will find so MANY that they will use time and time again!!!
Features
After having used so many effects units, I have found this one to meet so many more of my demands that I think of it as a necessary unit in my studio now. This thing gets put through its paces using all the features at times, so all the features are useful to me. Line 6 could provide a monkey I could tell which sound I wanted and the monkey could find it, but that would probably not be cost effective. This thing is built like a tank and can take abuse. I am NOT gentle in my handling of my gear like I should be, so equipment HAS to be able to take some rough handling.
Ease of Use
It does take a little time to get used to all the things this unit can do, and learn to tweak it to get what you want, but once you have fooled with it for just a little while you will find that it will respond to your demands like a paid assistant and whatever sound you want will be there for you.
Quality
This unit is made of metal and is well constructed. My only complaint, which is not really a complaint but a suggestion for improvement, is the knobs which could be simply hard rubber instead of the "fancy" lug nut knobs which are durable and do fine, but simple rubber knobs would do better for me. The POD X3 Pro looks wonderful in my rack and has gleemed many compliments on just its looks as well as its sound.
Value
Though the unit seems a little pricy at first, it is worth every penny once you learn to use it to its full potential!! Other, less expensive units cannot hold a candle to this one, and you will wind up purchasing several units to get the sounds that you could have gotten from just this one unit!
Manufacturer Support
I used support to find out how to load pre-made sounds into the unit and got MANY replys that had me loading the POD with not only my own sounds but sounds from musicians from all around that were just what I was looking for... there is PLENTY of room in the POD for uploading user sounds and Line 6 support sure got me going on using them.
The Wow Factor
I would marry this thing.

Has many useful sounds for live and/or recording. The price should include the footswitch or the footswitch should be available at a nominal amount extra.
Sound
This is a incredible sounding unit. I love the fact that you can do updates as well. It handles guitar, bass and vocals with some great sounds that are very tweakable.
Features
USB to PC is for me one of it's best features. You can run your guitar straight through and record it dry or effected to your favorite DAW. But even better you can re-amp your sound by running your recorded (dry) guitar, bass or vocal and revamp the effects and change them. Incredible!
Ease of Use
It is pretty easy to use. A quick perusal of the manual and I found I was ready for primetime.
Quality
This unit is rock solid. I never worried about backup and never had problem with it. This would be a great addition to anyone's home or road rack.
Value
Decent value for all that this thing does! You do need to buy a footswtch separately however,
Manufacturer Support
Line 6 has always been available for just questions that I may have had for their gear, And whenever I needed info on hookups etc they were very helpful.
The Wow Factor
It's cool looking I guess......

"POD X3 PRO"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Extremely versatile device. The main aim I was buying it - home recording/live performance. It does pretty much everything you would want for home recording (dry/wet signals, parallel) + what's important for me, recording two bass signals from an external device (I use MXR M80), which is not possible with say HD Pro. It also comes packed with bass amps/cabs/fx and vocals preamps making it a real recording station. For live performances I use ShortBoard, though it can be midi-controlled from a laptop (whatever you use). All in all, a highly recommended device.

Musical Background:

I've been playing the guitar since I can remember myself. I play semi-professionally in a band.

I am going back to the GT-10!!!!
Sound
This has more sounds than you can think of with the tonezone! AWESOME sounds along with the ability to mix two sounds together is great. I think the BOSS GT-10 has better sounds the Line 6 has better abilities to change sounds faster. It is better suited for studio work than the BOSS also. Besides it is LINE 6 whom is the LEADER in modulation! With the M13 these two belong together forever!
Features
Great for recording. It has two separate inputs which can be used at the same time allowing for playing and singing or ??? Also comes with POD Farm although the POD Farm 2 is an extra 49.00 which is DECEIVING!
Ease of Use
Could be easier to use as the add-ons are confusing to understand how they work along with how much EXTRA MONEY will you need to spend to use the extras? That is kind of a joke.
Quality
It is rugged I guess but sure don't want to drop it as there are NO PROTECTORS to protect the knobs from breaking if it should drop on its face!
Value
Save yourself and buy a BOSS GT-10 or GT PRO!!!!
Manufacturer Support
SUPPORT SUCKS for Line6 products!!!! There really is NO SUPPORT other than users in a forum! ANOTHER JOKE FROM LINE6!!!
The Wow Factor
I wish I could RETURN IT!!!! Really!
