"An Amazingly versatile and powerfully punchy bass amp."

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
The only reason I would change from the LD300 is to use a different speaker cabinet.
Sound
The LD300 sounds amazing! I've compared the different amp modes to the original amps , and they are spot on. There is actually more flexibility available than most of the originals. For instance - a 300watt B-15 does not become an SVT-it stays B-15 but LOUD. So versatile-there is no other bass amp out there like this one. I've played P-bass, J-bass, Rickenbacker, Danelectro, Jaguar, Hofner and Burns thru this amp and have been able to get any sound I go for with any bass.
Features
The different amp personalities are endlessly useful. The fx are good but take a little tweeking, as does the Synth mode. I first thought the Synth was just a gimmick, but with some tweeking and practice on technique, have found that it is very useful and powerful. The FBV Shortboard makes the total package.
Ease of Use
This amp was so easy to use and set. The memory locations are simple to use.
Quality
Seems a little less robust than some "pro" amps, but still up there with the best built.
Value
There is no other amp in any price range to compare with LowDown series of amps. It is total value for money.
Manufacturer Support
No problems.
The Wow Factor
Looks really cool. The front panel is a bit plain, but very "modern looking. Wish the knobs were marked on top rather than underneath.

Compared to Ampeg amps this size and the combo amps, This Line 6 LD300 rock it out of the park and it a better value and deal! You get more sounds and more for your money!! I can do more with this amp and it does have more features on tap to use and you can also plug in a drum machine or CD/Mp3 to play along too! which is cool!!
Sound
Very versatile sound. I recently got this amp and think it's got so much available for various FX and mixed sounds that you can really got alot out of it..
Features
I'm going to look into getting the board for this 'cause it has alot of features to add to this already cool amp.
Ease of Use
Quite EZ 2 use! You can set the 4 presets and get them going or you can set up the sounds as you like and dial in the various sounds available The manual is quite EZ and it does the job but, YOU have to do the work and check out all this amp can sound like and do for you...
Quality
I believe this amp has good quality of workmanship and is built to last and will do the job for you as long as you just don't drop it from a 4 story building..or from any height...LOL!! It's got excellent side handles which are spring loaded and they work well. I have a small floor dolly I use to put it on and to move it around...it weights a good amount so, it helps to use it.
Value
The the quality and for the FX and sounds this amp can do for you..and the price is damn good too! If I would have gotten this amp at the local music store, I would have paid alot more...I did not have to pay tax and the shipping was very cheap..I got in in less than a week and I love it!! Zzounds is a great place to purchase anything musicial!!
Manufacturer Support
It has the usual warranty on it and I know if it ever needs it I'll have it taken care of..but I don't think it's gonna be a problem at all!
The Wow Factor
This amp has lots of sexy beefy appeal to it I think! It's got cool looks and does the job! The 2 side ports in the front of the amp help to desense the bass sound waves inside the amp and help the lower sound waves got out and you can feel them too as well as hear them which is important for sexy bass vibrations for all!!

"GREAT SOUND! Maybe the Bass POD + your existing rig may be better."

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars

I think if I don't move it to too many gigs, or practice areas, I will have it for many years. It will sit on my stand in my studio for now on.
Sound
Very good sound. The Horn can be turned off, which gives even more sonic possibilities.
Features
Great features in a combo amp. 300 watts is very loud on certain preamp settings. Decent effects, preamps, routing for live or recording direct. Good carrying handles, however I don't trust carrying this heavy amp around and it staying in one piece.
Ease of Use
Damn easy. With an FBV shortboard pedal it is more processing power than I need.
Quality
My biggest concern is the amp casing. It is particle board: not the best resonance, not the best durability. My first amp came damamged via UPS delivery and showed its chipboardiness qualities. Second one came entact, but I wouldnt move this heavy SOB to to many garages to gig, it could EASILY get damaged. Great preamp and nice finished look, but anyone that knows a quality amp will recognize the cheapness of the casing.
Value
Very good value. Lots of sonic possibilities. Cheap casing. For the money you get a lot of sound. I would pay for this over the LD150 or LD175 any day.
Manufacturer Support
AWESOME! You cannot go wrong with their customer support. Replacement? NOT EVEN A PROBLEM!
The Wow Factor
Tis nice, but you could always get a Pod bass preamp to add to your Ampeg.

I'm sure I will play this amp for years.
Sound
I'm new to the Bass but I have studied a played music all of my life. I played through many amps during my research and I liked many of the amps that I played through. The Line 6 does all of the sounds justice and it rips the SVT.
Features
300 watt head, 15 inch speaker and a horn you can disable. Wow. More effects than I'll ever use. Cool handles.
Ease of Use
Plug it in and play.
Quality
fiberboard? My amp arrived just fine not a mark on it, but the fiberboard worries me.
Value
Man I spent a lot of time playing amps in my budget. I ended up spending half what I expected on the LowDown 300 Pro because it rips. Great Value.
Manufacturer Support
All I've done for support is collect the free FBV Express board. That was super easy.
The Wow Factor
This could be a ten on the sexy factor if it had castors.

Line 6 LD300 LowDown Pro Customer Review

Quality
Mine was a floor model (used to demonstrate the amp in the store); the power switch works only for other people, it never switches on for me (laughable but true). Everything else is great about this amp.

Very satisfied!!!
Sound
I recently bought this amp on this great web site!! U guys Rock! Anyway, this amp is all the hot things you want in a really portable bass amp. It is built solid with heavy duty side handles. Line 6 makes some excellent FX boxes and of course their amps rock. This amp does the sound deal and does it damn well. You can dial in or adjust your tones and sounds as you like and you have 4 presets you can set up and after that, you just press it and there are you! Excellent sound all around. I love the Synth and various wave form settings, after you learn how to use them...they can sound awesome!
Features
The features on this amp Rock! From the simplest to the more complex, it does the deal!
Ease of Use
After you get your sound set up..all you need to do is use the various 4 presets to set your sound at the push of a button..and away you go. Some people have complained about how the synth sounds but, after you learn how to use it..with just a few adjustments..the sound is damn awesome and believe me...it does the job!
Quality
This amp is solid and well built. The two side spring loaded handles do the job. All you need to do is to get a small flat bed dolly to set it on to move it and it's EZ! As long as you don't drop it it's gonna last you. As with any piece of equipment of electronics, you need to not abuse it...it's gonna do the job and it's a fine piece of equipment for sure!!
Value
I got this amp for an excellent price. You can't beat it. NO sales tax and the shipping cost was small. IT's worth it!
Manufacturer Support
I have not had to deal with Line 6. I know they make some damn good products and amps all around. If needed this amp as all of their products have good warrenty coverage.
The Wow Factor
Cool looking modern amp that is sexy with beefy looks and heavy duty sound to make ya shake with delight!
