I have had this mic for about 3 months. I have to say that I am very impressed with it. It has a very even tone without being overly emphasized. I’ve used it on vocals and guitars and sounded great. Build quality is quite nice, very sturdy. I have more expensive mics, but for under $300, this thing is great. Lewitt is definitely on my list for go to microphones.

I've used a Studio Project C1 as my go-to vocal mic for many years. I had hoped this might be better (similar price) and replace it. I'm still sticking with the C1 because the vocals sit better in the mix. The 440 has a nice top end sheen without any harshness.Proximity effect adds a good roundness to the low end without being excessive. It does seem more sensitive to plosives (even with the included pop filter and a metal Stedman filter used). All in all a good value for the price. I will probably use it for background vocals and drums. I also own the Lewitt 240 pro and I love that one, but that's a different review. For a first time user lead vocal recording mic the 440 will do fine.
