"DO IT!"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Very nice product, better than all of the tuner pedals in its price range and much more accurate than the Boss.
Sound
This pedal does not color your sound or take away from the tone at all. It even uses a momentary switch so there isn't a popping noise when you turn it on and off. Very transparent.
Features
Very accurate, easy to use tuner. The backlit display is very easy to use and see in all applications. Also has an extra 200 ma output that you can power a separate pedal with.
Ease of Use
Very simple, just put it in your signal chain and tune away.
Quality
Very nice, rugged metal casing that seems to have lasting power.
Value
It is cheaper than its earlier model and smaller but it has overall better features.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't used it but shouldn't have to.
The Wow Factor
It is so nice to not have to take the guitar out of the input every time you have to tune but now it takes me about 20 seconds and I'm in a very good sounding tuning.

Korg Pitchblack Tuner Customer Review

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
best tuner on the market. exc
Sound
Your sound is unaffected.
Features
It tracks beautifully. It can take some punishment. It has some features other than straight tuner but I don't remember what they are and will never use them.
Ease of Use
The tracking is untouchable. There will come a point in time where your 'trusty' boss tuner poops in your bed and you will need to find a more reliable lover. this is she.
Quality
Pretty high quality. Don't want them to get too satisfied. It can always be better.
Value
WAY BETTER THAN BOSS.
Manufacturer Support
It never broke/Won't bother calling them anyway.
The Wow Factor
black is so much sexier than white.

"Korg Pitchblack tuner...try it and you'll buy it."

Don't have anything bad to say about it. I do wish it had detuning modes which it may have but I have been too impatient to search and learn how to use it completely. It's a tuner and that's what I bought it for. It's the BEST I've ever had
Sound
The Korg Pitchblack tuner has a true bypass. No noise in switching and it's the perfect tuner for my rig.
Features
The tuner has a few visual options for tuning. It has big bright illumination which makes tuning a breeze.
Ease of Use
it doesn't get any easier....plug it in and go. No noise, no loss of gain.
Quality
This piece of hardware is going to be around a long time. It's built like a tank though most of the abuse will come from loading and unloading, I'm sure it will withstand most anything.
Value
I had to do some shopping around but zZounds gave me the best price by matching a competitor and then I got free shipping on top of that.
Manufacturer Support
People are great. The tuner has a 3 year warranty behind it. How can you go wrong.
The Wow Factor
WHen in use(tuning mode) it does turn heads. I like that.

"Great Tuner"

Big Display. Lights up strong too! Dead quiet and its pretty small. It comes with a way to calibrate at different frequencies. But, thats if you want that. The display lets you different lighting/strobe modes so the display acts differently when you tune. But to me, they just confused me lol. Its simple and does what it is supposed to and i like the fact that i was able to power using a 9V battery adapter cable from VooDoo Pedal Power 2. Something I wouldn't have been able to do if I had the boss tuner, I got this before the polytune came out. Now, for the price, I think the Polytune might have the upper hand. But this one, is great. I have had it for 3 years and its still good as new. Really Accurate as well. Smaller than the boss tuner too. The switch is quiet. All in all, worth it. Get it!

"Best tuner in its price range!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

This is the best tuner pedal I have used. The only reason I would use a different stage tuner is if I was using a rackmount model.
Sound
It's true bypass, so no impact on my tone (as it should be for a tuner).
Features
Nice big LEDs, smaller overall size than other comparable tuners.
Ease of Use
Just plug in and tune!
Quality
Seems pretty beefy. Definitely made to be stepped on repeatedly.
Value
For about the same price as other stompbox tuners you get true bypass and a convenient compact size.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed support.
The Wow Factor
I just can't imagine a situation in which I would find a tuner sexy, but the black case is cool-looking.

I had a Korg quartz analog tuner that I gave to my nephew along with my Cort Curbow B4 bass since he wanted to learn a second instrument. He is currently the drummer for Black Tide. So I needed another tuner, and this one got good reviews. I am very happy with it. Love the true bypass feature - no coloring of the signal. It is quick to find the notes, and very accurate. For the price, I recommend you get this one. Get the DC power supply though - worth it.

Full true bypass for those who keep their tuner in line. I feed mine off a spare dry out. 4 completely different modes of tuning here, including 2 strobe modes, very, very accurate. It is doubtful your neck no matter how well set up can register perfect on this tuner. It is able to show the minute slight off that traditional straight frets just simply have.

I am very satisfied with this tuner. If it was lost or stolen I would buy it again only at a lower price.
Features
Just select the mode that you like.
Ease of Use
Very easy to use. Tuning is a breeze!
Quality
Very well made and reliable.
Value
I gave this part of the review a 9 because IMO, I feel that it is a little over priced for a tuner.
Manufacturer Support
None needed as of yet.
The Wow Factor
It would look nice on a pedal board and fit right in.

"Korg Pitchblack chromatic tuner pedal"

What a great tuner. It does just what I want...TUNE! Not to fancy. No big time bells or whistles. This is what you could consider a "working musicians" tuner. Yes, for a few dollars more there are tuners out there that will do just about everything but degrease your engine but unless your looking at studio performances this tuner is it. Easy to read, easy to use and rugged enough for even the worst honkey tonk, bar or club...I actually spilled an adult libation on it, wiped it off and kept on going.

Musical Background:

Mostly country. Maybe some oldies (50's/60's) or a few classic 70's rock.

Works like a charm! No noise, easy to read and accurate.
Sound
No sound from this pedal, by design.
Features
One trick pony, tuning, and it does that well. It's new, so I don't know about durability. It seems to be built well.
Ease of Use
Plug and play.
Quality

Value
Yes.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed it, so I don't know.
The Wow Factor
I like that it does exactly what it's supposed to, and for me, does it well. I've had a few other tuners, but this is by far the nicest.

"Horrible Tuner!!!"

Overall: 0.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Bought the first one...got home and tested it and seemed power up accordingly, but the thing I didn't test was the second DC output for chain powering up to my other pedals. Finally got around to it 5 months later - DIDN'T work!! Returned it to the manufacturer for a second one. When I received it, it seemed to work as it should. Was happy with it and stored it away nicely back in the original box. Now 9 months later, after moving to my new home, took my toys and set it. Now, the darn tuner's Output DC connector stopped powering up. I'm freak'n frustrated with this unit. I can't even power up my other pedals. Will never ever buy another Korg product. This was my first Korg item...and certainly my last. They say first impression is everlasting.
