Am always searching for more keyboard, they are the best toys. Just got a Korg X-50 but haven't played with it yet. Good instruments so far. Would like maybe an Korg M3 too. CX-3 others.
Sound
This is a great arranger for getting right into the music. The jazz and bossa styles work for myself with fairly good arrangemements for backup. Less technical than the Pa500, instruments are fine, there are better instruments on the Korg X50, but that is a workstation. This is almost the same as the old Korg Pa80 and Pa60, sounds and features. Good for practice or playing live. It works wonders when you don't have to call up people to jam. I am keeping this one!
Features
Some of the guitars are passable, as well as the piano, vibes and organ sounds. There are better units that can accomodate you if the instrument sounds are of most importance. Some of the horn sections are not so o.k., barely. Should come with sustain and assign pedals. Would be nice to have a CD burner on board. The floppy discs will load more programs, but read the directions so you don't overide the ones that are installed.
Ease of Use
Right out of the box, turn it on and play. The better you are the more likely you can make it sound good. Complex jazz rythyms with good chops that are lightin' fast, now that really helps. Or you can fade into the sunset with a bossa that is cool and serene.
Quality
Not bad for an Italian design made in China. There is no semi or weighted keys here, more like synth keys, something to get used too.
Value
Good value for the money.
Manufacturer Support
I wrote a couple of days ago and they haven't written back. Usually they may answer or e-mail you back, however it depends on what you want and how persistant you are...
The Wow Factor
It's plastic and not a Hammond B-3, so what. It looks like what it is semi-pro. I would beleive that it is not all together that aesthetically pleasing however, if they made it out of carbon fiber it would cost more, but it would be unbreakable.

"Marvelous, The Keyboard of Your Dreams!"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I think I will be satisfied with this product for a long time especially since I am learning to play Middle Eastern music on it and it is very useful. I will probably replace it after I have more experience with the keyboard. If this product was lost/stolen I believe I would buy the same one.
Sound
Sound is beautiful, almost as good as the Pa800 or Pa1x. Preloaded instruments are nice, comes with a brief selection of oriental sounds and styles.
Features
One of the features it has that I love is the option to let you put your own (custom) sounds, styles, and songs inside. I use this instrument for middle eastern performences and the features are very good. For the Price of $900 this is awesome!
Ease of Use
Very very easy to use. Just load the floppy disk (if you own one) and load the sounds and styles. Choosing the sounds and styles are very easy. Many easy features that would be rather complicated on other keyboards.
Quality
Quality seems to be good so far. It rarely has bugs but still has some. I mean it is a nice Italian style developed in Japan and Made in China, like I said $900 very good deal.
Value
For an instrument like this you should be very happy for getting it at $900. This is a really great price. If you were to buy a similar keyboard from "Yamaha" it will cost you around $1,500.
Manufacturer Support
Korg, very good support I hear from a lot of people. I actually baught my PA-50 at "Guitar Center" and wherever you buy it new from Korg will give you I believe a 1 year limited warranty but if you register online I believe it will give you an extra year for free.
The Wow Factor
Very beautiful Italian look. Sexy keyboard with a nice grey finish. Everything on the keyboard is layed out nicely for ease of use. Nice look and finish.

"An arranger made in Heaven!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
It will never be stolen because they will have to do it over my dead body. It is the best deal on the market now. I do not know why people spend over $3000 for a Yamaha Tyros when Korg PA50 sounds much better and is less than one third the price! I like everything about it...Perfection is the word to define the amazing PA50. Korg products are the top of the line, period!
Sound
Superexpressive, realistic, gorgeous! It sounds better than Yamaha PSR3000. I also use my Hammond M3 (baby B3) to play Bossa Nova. By the way, I have a brand new Korg CX3 combo organ that I only used twice at home. I want to trade for a Korg Triton LE-61, 76 or 88. The reason is that I need more sounds. My email is brownysweet@hotmail.com My tips are that you use the effects to your taste, but anyway this baby sounds amaizing without effects.
Features
Get all the pedals and you will be in seventh heaven!
Quality
Beautiful, reliable, built to last.
Value
For $900 you will get the mother of all arrangers ever made on this planet!
Manufacturer Support
Very friendly and nice customer service.
The Wow Factor
I am so much in love with this baby that I am going to buy another one after I finish submitting this review. I love the lights and small buttons. It is sexy!

"Good arranger, but has some flaws."

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
The Pa50 is capable of sequencing and recording your own backing tracks, But it cryptic and very hard to use for this. Better off doing it in a computer and transfering them with midi.
Sound
The sounds are a mixed bag. The drums are good. The acoustic pianos are on the thin side. Overall the whole instrument is very brite, I have tone it down with EQ.
Features
It is loaded with features, but some of then are hard to get to on the fly.
Ease of Use
Any keyboard with this many buttons has a deep learning curve. If I don't use it for a few months I have to "relearn" it.
Quality
Built of cheap plastic. I have a big crack in the back of mine from a small fall. The buttons are of the cheap rubber type, and some of mine take reapeated pushes to activate.
Value
For the money, it is OK if you need an affordable arranger. Next one I buy will be a Yamaha though.
Manufacturer Support
Don't know.
The Wow Factor
I own it.

"GREAT PRODUCT AFFORDABLE AND GREATEST LOOKING KEYBOARD OF ALL TIMES"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
If I had to buy another keyboad it would be KORG TRION EXTREMEm korg is the best product.
Sound
THE SOUND OF THIS PRODUCT IS GREAT.
Features
since I start playing this keyboard I becoame better at it. Thank you Korg. It has all the features I need.
Ease of Use
It's very easy to use this keyboard, I use to have Yamaha, Roland, Casio, thanks god I got rid of these keyboards.
Quality
The quality should be little better, it is made out of cheap plastic, but what a heck it has a great sounds and I am very happy to have this keyboard. My Yamaha had a hard plastic but the sounds were no where near my new KORG PA 50.
Value
This product worth more than $999, you can't find a better deal.
The Wow Factor
Great looking keyboard, loaded with all kind of features, and like that other guy said "sexy looking keyboard"

"Affordable professional arranger/keyboard who want's more than regular keyboard"

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Depends of user: as a synth-user: replace it immediately as studio artist: has some excellent sounds in programmode but: see synthuser as band-member: this would not be you're main keyboard, good as second or third as one-man-entertainer: perfect, if you're budget is not high
Sound
In programmode: superb other modes: poor/good -> in other modes than programmode the sounds are not the same, because of missing effects etc (why?) Sequender: the more sounds you use, the poorer the overal outcome
Features
For price qulity excellent
Ease of Use
Playing: excellent Editing: difficult
Quality
Looks good, but keys feel as ik the could fall apart if you play to hard/fast
Value
You get a lot for the price
Manufacturer Support
Korg support is OK
The Wow Factor
Seems fine

"Sounds are not bad but cheap components (toy)"

Overall: 1.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This is a home unit and not to be carried from place to place. The keyboard shell cheap plastic.
Sound
The sounds are not bad for a $1000 keyboard.
Features
I like the two sequencers.
Ease of Use
This is not a user friendly keyboard. It takes time to learn it. You can go in certain modes and it will lockup with you. What I mean is whatever button you press will not change the mode or sound. I have to reboot in order to get back where I need to be.
Quality
Cheap, cheap cheap. I bought this keyboard 8 months ago and I have replaced the Db and Eb key. I never seen anything so cheap in my life. The Casio $99 keyboard have better keys. This is only a toy for children.
Manufacturer Support
These guys do not have a clue.
The Wow Factor
I am very disappointed with quality keyboard. I have a Roland and Yamaha. Never had any problems with anything breaking, especially the keys.

"The money waisting"

Overall: 1 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
Sound is pretty good for this money
Features
crappy buttons. Cheap plastic. Have to press the same button twice or three times to pick the something from the menu
Ease of Use
If you go to style and want to go back, you don't know where you are at, at what style category. The "exit" button does not work in this case.
Quality
This is a toy, not a keyboard. Don't waist your money. Go to vacation instead,or save a little and go for tyros or pa1x. Tried pa800, the same soap box. Plastic, plastic, prastic. Can't be a serious machine.
Value
complete piece of...you know what
Manufacturer Support
I don't know nothing about support. This toy is made in China...With all respect I don't expect much from it.
The Wow Factor
God forbid to even look at it
