This does exactly what I need it to do. It's Plug n Play track and transport controls for Logic and Ableton. It can also be used for custom midi mapping for software synths, etc.

I'll probably end up buying the whole line eventually, i'll treat them nice. I like it because it works perfectly without getting in the way. the layout is simple and attractive. And it came in black.
Sound
It makes no sound itself, as that is the intent, it works very perfectly.
Features
Setup disc is simple. Configuration utility is excellent. The included synths are very limited and still require elaborate online registration and authorization even though serial numbers are provided.
Ease of Use
All the functions are able to be modified using the included Kontrol Editor, cc#, toggle vs momentary, enable/disable, upper/lower values. custom setups can be saved and recalled from file. the LED function can be disabled if you don't need flashy feedback.
Quality
Built to last. Very tight construction. Rubberized buttons are responsive and the knobs and faders are smooth. The bottom has rubber pads to keep it from sliding around.
Value
A very well executed product. Mature feel, not like a toy. what more can i say, I'm really impressed so far. Amazing quality for the price. The flexibility of expanding to multiple controllers is a great concept. I've had no annoyances yet.

The Wow Factor
Allows a flexible workspace. Everyone has a different style of workflow, and the freedom to choose which controller and where it will fit in is the big creative and ergonomic strength in this product line. Maybe the next version could choose to function wirelessly. The only tweaky little thing is the potential addition of an auto-configuration based on software i'm using. Like the Belkin Nostromo gaming controller. Korg could even update the Kontrol utility allowing it to perform custom keystrokes, this would liberate it from just music software.

"Great Little Controller"

I am using this as a midi controller for Serato Scratch Live and it works great to map the SP-6 and the Effects. The buttons and knobs could be slightly bigger but you get used to them fast. I have also used it in Ableton and it works great for that too. For the price you cant beat it.

"Excellent, low-cost DAW control with all the basic features for recording and mixing."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Features
It has the basics such as transport, mute/solo/rec and markers as well as cycle. Lacks some of the controls of more expensive units but, that's a given. Works perfectly and install is easy and relatively fast. Since it's USB powered you won't have any extra cables cluttering your desktop. Very light but, with enough sturdiness for Studio use, at home or live.
Ease of Use
Install the drivers and add the unit to your DAW's list of devices and your are done.
Quality
Good quality product. Feels solid enough for its intended use.
Value
Great deal for the price, for sure.
