"Great product, now outdated"

I need an MTR with USB connectivity and easy transfer of WAV files to my PC.
Sound
Excellent
Features
Many features, many onboard effects which are unfortunately not as good as on more modern MTRs. Onboard mic and simple connection of guitar and drum machine, built in effects and drum machine useful for home recording. Lack of USB and difficult PC connectivity makes this unusable for me.
Ease of Use
Touch screen and a rotary encoder dial to quickly access many settings is great. It takes a while to learn the machine because there are so many features and the manual is horrible - as is true of many Japanese products.
Quality
Good, except after years of use, carrying it around town in a backpack, the hard disk freezes sometimes while trying to record several inputs at the same time. Despite this, I consider it a high quality product. Solid construction, knobs and levers all in excellent non-scratchy condition after years of use. (Again, hard disk is obsolete and prone to damage; it should run on solid state memory.)
Value
This product was great 10 years ago but is outdated. I can't imagine buying this product in an age of PC recording and low cost multi-track recorders which have excellent sound quality, features, USB output, memory card, etc.
The Wow Factor
Looks good and the size is very comfortable.
