"Superb Value"

Like another reviewer said, these easily stack up to the Yamaha HS-8s, which cost ~200 more per pair. They have excellent tight bass, clear mids, and crisp highs without being as forward as the HS-8s, and they don't fatigue my ears. Mixes that were made on Yamaha HS-8s sound almost identical on the Kalis.

"I’m Keeping Them"

This is my first set of monitors. However; I have been in a studio or to in over 45 years as a musician wannabe. I’m satisfied so far with the speakers themselves. As we all know operator overhead accounts for a lot and I’m still learning. I will stick with the brand and my next set of Kali's will be the three way model then I will put in another review to describe my experience and the variance between the two. Stay Tuned.

These monitors are real.I put them side by side comparison to my yamaha Hs8 without the management controller.Bottom on the Kali reach out and touch yous pectrum is realistic and clean.Highs are nice.Major bang, why spend twice as much cause thats what you'd have to do.

"Great Buy!"

I purchased a pair of the Kali LP8’s (one from zZounds, the other from the local Guitar Center). I’ve had them for about a month and a half now and all I can honestly say is that these monitors are awesome. I have an untreated room (It’s a fairly decent sized room not small, and not large. It’s also squarish) I have my monitors in probably the worse place they could be, right where two walls meet, AND on a table. I don’t get the complete sound of the bass from the speakers in my mixing position BUT, I do get a very substantial amount of bass. Enough bass to shake the roof and walls, and I can hear it plus feel it, and that’s without driving the monitors hard. If I go to my closet, I get the FULL CLEAN effect of the bass. I mention all this just to let anyone know that even if your space isn’t ideal, these can still work. My mixes translate very well from these minus the bass, but that’s due to my mixing position and my untreated room NOT the speakers! If I check my bass in the closet though I can get it pretty dead on. Lol , my monitors do make a slight hiss that almost everyone refers too. It doesn’t bother me from my mixing position & it’s not really loud whatsoever, I’d have to be about 1.5-2 feet away from the monitor to hear it over the computer fans. I would definitely recommend these, as well as isolation pads. I noticed an immediate difference after I purchased the isolation pads! For anyone wondering which ones I went with. I got the “Gator Frameworks Large” These speakers make ALL of my mixing decisions easier. I would just recommend spending a few days listening and adjusting the dip switches on the back. I have my speakers about 4 ft apart from each other, angled at 60 degrees. And I sit about 3.5-4 feet away from the speakers. I tried to find information to help me get a good setup going with these but couldn’t find any, hope this gives anyone that was in my situation a starting point. I would also definitely buy these again if something were to ever happen to the ones I have. I trust them and I love them & you will too!

"It's exactly what they claim to be."

Ive been playing these for a couple of months. You get out exactly what you put in. No added bass or highs. Just a clean almost flat signal. You can EQ them if need be. I was told they sound like their yamaha competition. After hearing mine and my friends yamahas using the same software. I would give these a slight edge in clarity. And they are about 2 bills cheaper for the set. I love them. My wife at the other end of the house hates them. Great( not good) but great speakers. In my star rating I didnt rate manufacturer support because Ive never called them. But if I need to I will update this review

"Very High Noise Floor"

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

I was really hopeful with these speakers but unfortunately they were too good to be true. There is an incredibly high noise floor that I am experiencing with a brand new pair of monitors straight out of the box. I've tried quite a few fixes but nothing appears to work and after a back and forth with their customer support the last word I got was them telling me essentially their monitors are cheap and to deal with it. Read the quote here:"When we launched these products back in 2018, we had two data points in mind: 1. the hiss was on par with our nearest competitor and 2. conversations with producers led us to think that the hiss would not be an issue. Indeed, for most people, it is not. However, for people mixing close to the speakers and in small and/or quiet rooms, it is noticeable."I'd say it's more than noticeable, getting my sounds to play over the hissing can be a struggle. When I'm working with synthesizers and trying to introduce any noise into the sound I have to stop and put headphones on to tell if the hiss I'm hearing is coming from the synthesizer or if it's the floor of the natural state of the monitor. It colors everything you do and I find myself avoiding using them now. I really wish I had gone with another pair. I guess maybe this could work if you plan on having these sit pretty far away from you, but for a home studio go with another pair.
