Wow. Ok so a little backstory. I was in the market for a Neve style pre. After extensive research i was going to go with the Warm Audio 1073, classic sound cant go wrong am i right?? Anyways, after some video reviews i saw of the colourbox v1 and v2... as a producer i was just blown away. I mean, the versatility and application you get from this is just BONKERS. And of course zZounds with crazy delivery speeds i mean its basically free next day delivery. The company is a godsend.
Sound
So the colourbox has a nice gainstaging stepped control. Can get Pristine clean to downright speaker broken fuzzy dirty and anywhere inbetween. I lean more on the slight coloration/distortion side of things so i thought it was perfect. Plus i play guitar and bass so this is a no brainer for me to have in ANY situation. Have it be live or in studio, this is going to get plenty of use from me.
Features
Honestly have had the thing for less than a week so no 'least useful features to me yet'i mean its basically a world class preamp in a pedal box... yeah corona may be hurting us in 2020 but this is healing me hahah.Easy use of the controls and the knobs have great resistance, so key because you can really fine tune how much the Pre-vol and step gain function work together.
Ease of Use
Unbelievably easy, plug it in turn some knobs and you have heaven from your amp or monitors.
Quality
Love the feel and size, thing is very well built. My first JHS product and im very happy.
Value
Honestly i would buy two of these for stereo capabilities but im holding my horses for now... the future does look quite COLOURFULL though ;)
Manufacturer Support
zzounds, easy choice!
The Wow Factor
It looks beautiful. Its Eyecandy, has a vintage console on the front with a sleek design and sexy knobs. Im enamored with the thing.

No matter what instrument you play, this is a pedal that's meant to do it all. Whether you use it as an EQ, a type of distortion, or some kind interface to clean up your signal. You will not regret spending this amount of money for this pedal. Absolutely worth the purchase for your musical journey.

Definitely lives up to expectations. Well worth the investment. Works great as an overdrive pedal for electric guitar. You can get a clean boost, distortion and overdrive, or even fuzz. Lots of tonal flexibility. Works incredibly well as a di box for acoustic guitar as well, and you can also add some drive to acoustic if you want. EQ is phenomenal and extremely responsive. I like using a pedal for my EQ rather than my daw or a plug-in. This saves processing power which is especially important if you are using something like a dsp interface. Works great as a preamp for vocals whether you want to add some color to your sound or raise the gain of your microphone without raising the noise floor. This is especially useful on my Rode NT1 which is extremely quiet, but I had trouble getting wave signals that were large enough before I purchased the colour box. I always had to nearly max out the gain on my interface which I didn't like. With the colour box, I can get enough gain when turning the dial to 9 oclock which is great. Yea, just buy it bro

This is the one. I love the Neve board it’s modeled after. As an audio engineer i love it. The tonal combinations are endless. As a musician it adds the presence and tone I want. The trouble is I want to use it on everything but I only bought one.

I bought this for all around studio use. I’ve wanted one since I first saw it even though I hardly knew what it was. I’ve had it for about 2 hours now and I’m already blown away at how good this thing makes my hot rod deluxe sound after some dirt pedals. Everything from the best cleans I’ve ever had to the most realistic drive sound from my od pedals. (

Great pedal , can give your amp anything from the slightest bump in any frequency or light distortion to a ferocious fuzz. Beat part is you can do it all with your guitars volume .
