Nifty guitar. Can take anywhere and leave my good takamine at home. Remember what you are paying. Is it as nice as my martin lawsuit tak no. But for the money it sounds great. This is a great full size dread. Neck is just slightly smaller at nut than my takamine. Easy to adjust to.
Sound
When i received it the sound was not great. Fret buzz. Strings hung up in nut when tuning. So would not stay in tune. Action high. So intonation was off. Not much fun to play.
Setup:
Removed strings and bridge. Sanded bridge down about 1/8 of an inch. Wow what a difference. Action is now better than my tak. Gonna have to give the tak bridge some loving now.
Took a small file to the nut hit the d g b string areas. No more string hangup. Stays in tune now. And dropped the action a little more.
The adjustable truss rod makes neck adjustments easy. Actually did this first and readjusted again last. Got out the majority of fret buzz. Just a hint at 3rd fret on top e string may leave alone or address fret. So little most cannot here it.
Now it sounds great. Not real boomy. But acceptable. Loud enough for a small venue. Intonation is still a compromise but great for the price.
Features
Nice finish no visible flaws. Colors available. Adjustable truss rod really important in this price range. Binding on body and fretboard makes it look more expensive. Fret markers on neck and binding make it easy to find position fast. Rosewood fretboard feels good. No sharp frets on the neck. Tuners worked loose tightened once all good now. Only 1 strap button. Although that's common on a dread.
Ease of Use
Very playable. Been to the beach with it. Seagulls loved the Blue color. Seriously had 15 of them by the time I finished the first song. Lol.
Quality
The bridge is the worst thing on this guitar. I don't know if the previous owner replaced these bridge pins or what. But they go down too far into bridge and are hard to remove. May try a spare set I have at home. Non scalloped bracing. Other than that all bindings, paint, finish, etc. Are top notch.
Value
All in all a great little guitar once setup properly. Not worried if it gets nicked or dinged.
The Wow Factor
