I got the Transparent Cherry finish and it is immaculate. The binding on the fretboard and headstock have always appealed to me on Jacksons.
The bridge offers good sustain. The electronics are clean and powerful; the tone is crisp and punchy with good bottom to it, even with all my dials set at the middle indent (volume maxed). If I had to try to find a shortcoming, the tuning machines can have a little play. But, that said, the bass tunes up easy and STAYS in tune.
I have had a Music Man Stingray and an assortment of the Sterlings (SBMM) in their SUB and 34/35 series and this bass has that same great punch while maybe a little more bright.
If you want a bass to cut through the mix, stay in tune and look good, here you go.

This guitar is everything you could want. If you want those crisp highs and bottom lows. This is your instrument. Very low action and decent string spacing makes for a fast playing instrument and the 3 band active EQ makes the possibilities endless with this bass. If you're looking for quality. The jackson js3vq is where it's at.
