This is a great guitar for metal, setup was good right out of the box The only thing that it really needed was new strings I put DR black beauties on it, pickups sound good and articulate even at high gain settings, the neck is real comfortable great guitar

Couldn't ask for more value from this guitar. Stock pups sound great (clean and bright, but still gainey enough to chug-a-lug) and the setup was pretty darned good. Would recommend to anyone as their first 7 string electric guitar. Aesthetically, it looks great with the flat black, and the hardware is fairly nice. The only complaint I have was some of the fingerboard finishing could have been tighter (couple of stain holidays on the side), but for the price you can't beat it!

This is a great instrument regardless of the price tag. Very fast neck, sleek design, great balance and incredible tone. I bought this guitar with the mindset of an upgrade project but honestly it’s not needed. The Amaranth fretboard is nice and dark, the action and intonation are spot on and the pickups have a wide range in tone. Do yourself a favor a get one while you can. You won’t be disappointed!
Sound
The stock pickups sound great as is. From warm clean tones to brutal gain. You don’t be disappointed.
Features
The hardware on this guitar are great and aesthetically pleasing.
Ease of Use
Plugged straight in to an Orange combo and achieved every sound I was looking for without any additions.
Quality
This guitar could easily survive the torture of a gigging musician.
Value
This guitar could easily sell for double of the advertised price.
Manufacturer Support
Jackson and zZounds both have great customer service.
The Wow Factor
This has become my go to guitar. The feel and playability of this guitar easily compares to any high end model.

Once upon a time, a guitar like this would've cost over a thousand dollars. Finish is nice, neck is comfortable, and this guitar has style with it's all black hardware, piranha tooth markers on the fretboard edges, and arched top body.

While I don't fancy myself a gear snob... I am fairly picky about gear. I was in the market for a 7 string but not looking to break the bank..... this guitar delivers ... I have always had a good experience with jackson .... but this has to be the best I have had in my 20 plus years of playing.out of the box it only took a small setup. (Which is expected when online ordering a guitar) .... the only complaint I can find is the pups. They are not the worst but a little muddy at times. All in all great guitar and if you have gotten to the point in your guitar shopping to read reviews then this is the guitar you want because nothing else in this price point will compare
