"by far the fastest and smoothest guitar ive ever played"
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
i will most likely play a rhoads for the rest of my life
Sound
I own this exact guitar down to the color...I play it with a mesa boogie dual rectifier half stack sounds great live i can get many different tones out of it..the neck is by far the fastest and smoothest neck ive ever played...ive even recorded with it..the guy at the studio wanted me to play his studio guitar and i refused and after we were finished he appoligized and said he was glad i didnt listen to him..I own many many different rhoads guitars and ive never owned or played a badd one..over all by far my favorite kind of guitar
Features
I would say the design of the neck was genious..very smooth and fast..but if i could change anything it would be to put a reverse headstock on it
Ease of Use
very easy to get many different sounds out of it...ive played this guitar through a mesa dual rec a marshall jcm 900 a marshall valvestate and a peavey classic 50 and i had no problem finding great sounds from any of them this guitar is very versitile..with a few knob adjustments its not hard at all for me to find my sound..as for playing like i said the smoothest and fastest ive played
Quality
ive had this guitar for about 5 years maybe six and the only thing ive had to fix is the ground wire but keep in mind i play heavy music and my live show is crazy...jumping..tail whips..just moshing all over the stage..ive banged this guitar all over the place ive broke both points off the body and the point on the head stock and it didnt even fall out of tune
Value
yes its worth it
Manufacturer Support
ive never had to..
The Wow Factor
its perfect for me standing up playing...kinda hard to get used to sitting down and playing but its a v so what do you expect but after you get used to it..its not a problem

"U LIKE RHODES U LIKE THIS!!!!!!"
over all this guitar holds its own very well its great for the money but i dont like the fell of it very strange at first when playing i would way rather a peavey wolofgang
Sound
this guitar sounds pretty good for playing lead guitar and everything and the pickups are great but because of the body shape the tone is kinda thin.
Features
floyd rose is kinda stiff but thats not to bad and it has good pickups for hard rocken some may like the 3 knobs but i prefer one volum knob because i get more sound control with that awsome shark fin inlays and wicked chrome pick guard
Quality
its made alright i guess it could be broken easy cause of shape but if ur careful with it.u can rely on it and it and it will last if u want it to good quality for price the only reason i gave it 7 is because there is better out there but its good
Value
yeah all i can say is that since this guitar is a randy rhodes guitar and its awsome looking the value is great
Manufacturer Support
if u have warrenty jackson is more than happy to help u out with ur problems i never had problems
The Wow Factor

Jackson RR3 Randy Rhoads Customer Review
Sound
I would say the sound is 10 out of 10 but thats only because I now have 2 Evo's in this guitar. But until recently had 81/85 EMGs in there and they sounded pretty dam heavy too.
Quality
I bet there are horrible RR3's out there that people hate the guitars now, but I really think my RR3 was made on the right day, with the right glue and the right wood, because it fits me perfect. and to top it off the crimson swirl finish, that this site doesnt offer, is quite a view.

"good guitar, play heavy metal, grow a pair"
if stolen i will hunt down whoever took it, or i might buy another one
Sound
pickups sound great,i put a dimebucker in mine
Quality
good fit and finish but i took mine to a guitar shop to get the fretboard leveled and the fretboard on mine curves up at the 12th fret and causes a little buzz but, the action on mine is VERY low
Value
you get what you pay for, a very nice guitar
Manufacturer Support
have not had to deal with jackson
The Wow Factor
the most popular heavy metal guitar made, not just a stage guitar i can pratice with this guitar (anyone who says this is a stage guitar needs to grow a pair)

"Great Guitar...for a great player"
Uhhm...This is one of the best guitars...the only difference from this guitar and the RR1 is that the neck is bolted and there are different pickups...being a USA guitar doesn't mean it's better...it just means it's expensive!!!
Sound
Well...I must say at first the puckups sucked. So I replaced them with EMG-Zakk Wylde (ZW) and then it started to sound BETTER...I think that this guitar's sound is good for Heavy Metal & Clean Songs.
Features
Very Good features. But the two volume knobs may cause confusion but it's still ok. The Jackson Tromolo is very good (much better than the STIFF Foyed that was on the previous models). As far as the basic construction it's very good.
Manufacturer Support
Very good Support if you have a warenty
The Wow Factor
GREAT SEX APPEAL!!!

"Great Value, Stage Use Only"
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
This guitar's strengths are in it's sex appeal and it's quality. For the money, this puppy is a steal.. it's so well built, very high quality.
This guitar's weaknesses is it's balance, strap connection location, and overal imbalance and inability to be used as a practice guitar.
Overall, it's a great value, but this is not the guitar you get to practice with. This is the guitar that you get to go on stage live and perform with.
Sound
Sound is pretty good for the stock pickups... it does sound pretty mean.
Features
Good features, Floyd Rose is very nice.. a bit too tight. I don't like the two volume knobs, nor thier placement.
Quality
The quality of this guitar is amazing... the neck, the action (although a bit low) and actual playability from the left hand perspective is really good. The balance problem continues to bother me, but this is a very high quality built guitar.
Value
for the money, this is one heck of a guitar.
The Wow Factor
The guitar is a BIG attention getter... more so than my Wolfgang.
Musical Background:
Been playing music for nearly 30 years

"The best guitar for rock'n'roll, soloing and harmonics."
The low action on the strings makes it very easy to play and hit of with blistering solos. The only bad point is that you can't sit down and play it because of its shape.
Sound
This guitar can be used in any kind of music. The duncan Detonator pickups have incredible tone and when used correctly, produce a hard, crunchy, distorted sound.
Features
The features are equal as good. The Flode Rode makes dive bombing possible for great soloing. This Randy Rhoads version has a 3way toggle switch for quick and easy pickup change.
Quality
Top quality guitar,i have never had a worry of a problem.
Value
It fells weighty and strong. A well built musical instrument for any price.
The Wow Factor
This is by far the sexiest guitar i have ever seen and it works with any effect avalible.
Musical Style:
Rock , 70's Metal.
