"You cannot find a better guitar for such a deal!!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this guitar once you get used to it. At first the neck was too thin for me because I have large hands but now it's really great. I pick it up to play for a few minutes then the next thing I know it's been two hours. I wouldn't trade it for any guitar.
Sound
The sound is full. Just because it's an inexpensive guitar doesn't mean it's poor quality. The pickups get the sound I want which was really unexpected.
Features
The only thing I would want more is independent volume controls but other than that, everything is fine.
Ease of Use
I considered changing the pickups but decided not to. It may be weird sitting down but I have 5 other guitars to play if I really want to sit which I don't. Not at all heavy which for most people is good but it would be nice a couple pounds heavier. Fast neck, great access to all the frets(I love having 24!!!)
Quality
It's not a top of the line guitar but it is better than a lot of more expensive ones. Jackson makes nice guitars but I've played the RR5 and it wasn't as good as this one, in my opinion. The bolt on neck doesn't take away anyting, still plays great! I know this is one guitar I will never even consider selling this guitar.
Value
You can't get a better guitar for this price. I would have paid more for it if it was more expensive.
Manufacturer Support
I haven't had any problems so that's really good.
The Wow Factor
It's got great looks and the blue finish is really awesome. It shines when I'm playing on stage.

Jackson JS30RR Rhoads Customer Review

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
like i said, its the best 300dl guitar
Sound
Its amazing!!! i dint belived that it will live up to my expectations!!! but it did,and it never buzzed, this must be the best 300dl guitar ,seriusly , i used it with a 75 watt line 6 amp (pretty cool amp by the way and cheap) and all the features that i used leave me speachless, it can get a very ligth distortion to a insane metal distortion like metallica, children of tha bodom, megadeth etc..not for the faint of hart!!! also the clean is goood but not great, but overall its sound is fantastic and for the price, its the best out there.
Features
the featers were simple: a volumen and tone knove and a switch
Ease of Use
its very easy to play wether it is siting or standing up with a strap. And the neck is thin soo this is a must for shreders!!! i could play stratovarious very easy on this neck
Quality
the finish was great , it looks durable (if u are not dummie to leave it on the wall duuu), and it looks killer!
Value
this monster gives a hell of a run for the money on other expensive guitars (i like this one better than a epiphone LP st.)
The Wow Factor
in one month i will have the money to buy the guitar yay!

"Great cheap Metal"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Purchaser zZounds has verified that this reviewer purchased this specific product from us.
I'll be using and upgrading this thing till its unusable. If it was stolen I would buy it again or a Schecter V
Sound
This guitar has great sound for its price range. The stock pickups work nicely, but I plan on switching to SD 59/JB's
Features
Pretty basic features. 1 vol 1 tone, 3 way switch. I prefer the Tune-O-Matic bridge over a tremolo bridge, hence why I bought this.
Ease of Use
Very easy to use. I love the style of this guitar. Standing up you'll need to support the neck since its a bit heavy, and for sitting you just rest the bottom wing on your thigh.
Quality
Its a cheap guitar but its good quality. The only problem I've had is buzz from the low-E string.
Value
Definately worth the price. I prefer this guitar over my $750 DK2
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to use it, but I know its great.
The Wow Factor
Its a Rhoads, need I say more?

well i want to update this guitar, to same model type but better hardware. If it had floyd i wouldnt bother, but need floyd badly.
Sound
it sounds impressive. sounds as good as EMGs.

Ease of Use
Metal as it can get. I did try blues once, and it sounded iight.. once u get used to this guitar u wont change back to normal shaped guitars. i play faster and better in this beast
Quality
best for the price
Value
i seen ppl sell it for 300 dollar used in craigslist. Its a really gud guitar

"Best For The Price"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I figure to put in an EMG 81 bridge pickup but leave in the neck, cause it sounds pretty damn good now.
Sound
This guitar has pretty good sound for the price. When i testing it at a guitar center i was sitting next to someone with a $500-600 Ibanez and mine sounded BETTER. Definitely pleased with the sound.
Features
Wish it had a Floyd Rose... But the original pickups are VERY good for a $300 guitar.
Ease of Use
Sounds great, but the bridge design is a little strange so it's harder for me to palm mute the strings as well. But that's probably just because i'm used to a totally different guitar design.
Quality
Made well... the only problem with mine is that the top string rattles but i could probably just have it set up and it'll be perfectly fine.
Value
DEFINITELY WORTH THE PRICE!!!
Manufacturer Support
No need
The Wow Factor
Rhoads shape. That should say it all. Everyone say these guitars are uncomfortable, especially when sitting... i disagree it's really comfortable, for me anyway.

"Read my review, but trust me you should buy it for so cheap"

Overall: 4 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I love this guitar. When it works right its my baby. I always enjoy playing this thing. Unfortunately it broke after 4 and a half months of owning it. It will get fixed free so im not really upset i guess. Uh.... BUY IT.... >>>THIS GUITAR IS CHEAP AND GREAT<<< I fell in love with it when i picked it up the first time... so i bet that you would too.
Sound
The sound can be modified to anything you want; either have gorgeous clean or get down and dirty, whatever... i play 80s style heavy metal, and this guitar works perfectly. gives sounds of Ozzy, Metallica, Black Label Society... really anything you want
Quality
I love this guitar so i gave it a six. The finish is fine, but the guitar is giving me problems, though when i bought it for the most part it was great. Right now im realizing that where the neck is bolted onto the guitar there is a crack, so my strings are rumbling against my fretboard. This guitar seemed great but its going downhill at a quick pace
Value
This guitar was worth every penny until it stopped working right. Since Jackson/Fender is gonna fix it im still happy with it.
Manufacturer Support
I've dealt with the company and they were easy to reach, very friendly, and helped me with my problems. The dude that i talked to said that if i take it in then i will get it fixed free because it is still under warranty. I need repairs just haven't gotten to it yet.
The Wow Factor
cmon dude, its a Rhoads V. This guitar has major sex appeal.

"Deffinatly one of the best guitars!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I cant really say because theres "always something better" but the only reason i would buy a new one is so i could sit down easy.
Sound
This is probably the best sounding guitar ever! The pickups are one of the best parts.
Features
The Product didnt include anything like an amp or an imput cord but non the less its a great Instrument. The worst thing on it though is the lacking of the tremolo arm. Its a great guitar but dont buy it if you want a whammy.
Ease of Use
I love how the neck is way more compact so you can move around really easy, but when you stand up and dont hold the guitar, it slants so the neck falls down to the ground. Also, if you dont like to stand up, its really hard to sit with it because of its shape. DONT BUY AS A FIRST GUITAR!
Quality
The product is amazing. I especially like the Humbucker pickups that are incased so you cant see them. It also vastly improves the sound.
Value
Definatly buy it!
Manufacturer Support
I bought it from a guitar shop not from the company.
The Wow Factor
SEXY! Its metalic blue and its a really nice shade. Looking at it is amazing, you drift away. But when you play it its insane!

"Pretty damn good"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Purchaser zZounds has verified that this reviewer purchased this specific product from us.
I'll be satisfied for at least 3 more years I'm sure. If something happens to it I'll probably save up for an Alexi Laiho Signature for $420 so I can get that Floyd Rose Whammy Bar.
Sound
The sound is great. I put DR Black Beauties on it and it sounds even better.
Features
I would give it a 10 but it doesn't have a floyd rose whammy bar.
Ease of Use
Very easy to use, I can slide my hands around without a problem, especially since it's a V-shape, it's way easier to use those higher notes without straining.
Quality
It chips pretty easily, if it's your first V like it is mine, try not to run into things with the wings, it's hard to remember at first, but I keep it on my back with the body pointing upwards and the head pointing downwards while I'm walking with it so it will be lined up with my body and it won't hit anything. And for the dude that posted under "Pure Utter Garbage" or whatever it was, take better care of your guitar and it won't break after 3 weeks, retard.
Value
Definately worth it.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had any problems
The Wow Factor
It's a V, of course it's sexy. It's so sexy I take it to school with me.

"I call mine the "Bootleg Alexi Laiho Signature""

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
i will be happy with this for a LONG time. i love it to death but i want to get the RR24 which is pretty much this guitar but has a floyd rose and comes in white. that is 1200 bucks though so that is not in the near future. if this was stolen i would definatly buy another right away.
Sound
as soon as i plugged it in i heard the difference between this and cheap starter guitars. i would just let power chords ring out because i loved how it sounds with distortion.
Features
The shape is amazing...closest thing i could get to look like Alexi Laiho that wasnt expensive. There is a volume and tone knob and a pickup selector but i only use the volume.
Ease of Use
extremely easy. this guitar is super light and i love that everytime i pick it up. i also have a jackson dinky but my shoulder starts to hurt because it is so heavy. but with the js30 i can pick it up and play for hours. the only thing is when u let go with your fretting hand the headstock is heavy enough to sink towards the ground but thats no biggie after a few days.
Quality
excellent. built well and feels nice. i did accidently but some nicks on it but it doesnt affect anything other than the looks.
Value
300 dollars is an amazing deal. that is hardley anything and it is my favorite guitar. i wanted the alexi signature but this is what i could afford and after playing it I decided to just keep this one.
Manufacturer Support
never needed them
The Wow Factor
The shape is like Alexi Laiho who is my idol so im really into the shape and the fact that is has 24 frets. would of been nice if it was offered in white but im happy with the red one. and it feels amazing. the light weight and the neck it feels like it was made for me.

"Can't Go Wrong With A Rhoads."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Yes, I love this guitar. The overall body shape is stunning. With the EMG's, it sounds great. However, I might purchase a higher end Rhoads that reaches my standards of proper inlays, flamed maple top, and alder body.
Sound
My JS30RR has EMG 81/85s in it, and it sounds pretty good. However, EMG active pickups sound better in Alder, which is what the higher end Rhoads guitars use. This has Indian Cedar in it. But lots of sustain, it sounds great.
Features
I, personally, prefer a string through body design over a floyd rose. I do wish it came with the string thru plate and control plate, because it would look much MUCH better. If you look closely, the Jackson logo is smaller that it is on the better Jackson guitars. I WANT sharkfin inlays.
Ease of Use
This guitar is extremely easy to play, and there really is no problem playing sitting down. The only criticism is the location of the jack, which sticks into your leg if you don't have a right angled cable. The frets are easily accessible.
Quality
Yes, this guitar is "crafted" in India, but it actually holds well. Nonoe of the knobs are loose, and everything feels tight as a drum. Paint is still intact too.
Value
The only string through Rhoads guitars cost over $600 (RR3 Custom, RR5, RR1T, and Matt Tuck Rhoads) This is therefore a bargain.
Manufacturer Support
Nope.
The Wow Factor
It looks great, but you have to admit the other Rhoads guitars with sharkfin inlays and black hardware look even better.

great guitar awsome sound will be keeping this for a long time!!
Sound
got a metal sound great for soad or metallica or other metal bands.
Features
didnt come with anything other than a strap.
Ease of Use
frets are nice and close together which is great for solos it also features 24 frets. one thing is that if you let go of the neck it sort of drops down, but its not a hassle or anything
Quality
would last you a while but be sure to watch the corners.(i took a small chip out of mine!!)
Value
could have gone for a little cheaper but the price is worth it.

"Pure Utter Garbage!!!"

Overall: 2.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Haven't been stisfyed with this thing since the day I bought it. I DO NOT recomend this guitar.
Sound
Pretty disappointed with the sound. But your not gonna get much for 299 bucks.
Features
I have a Rhodes with a floyd and EMG pick-ups, so I wanted something with a set bridge and in the same shape cause I was so used to the Rhodes design. I was gonna switch the crappy pick ups out with some active EMGs, but changed my mind after the nut broke within 3 weeks of owning this piece of junk. And the machine heads are made of crap as well. The neck was alright, but not what I expected.
Ease of Use
Bout as easy as it gets.
Quality
Complete garbage. The nut broke within 3 weeks of owning it and half of the string hole covers fell off with ease. Maybe I got a defect from the company or something, but to me, a total waste of money.
Value
With my experience with this axe, it has as much worth as tits on a nun.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had a problem yet.
The Wow Factor
Well its Randy Rhodes' design, kinda speaks for itself.

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

i love this thing ive had it for two years and its incredible but if u get it make sur u get a cable that has a 90' angle input so u can sit with it and the ur good to go
Sound
the sound coming from this guitar sounds like its coming from like a 800 dollar guitar. the original pick ups are incredible, but me being a fan of dimebag i put a dimebucker on the bridge pick up (obviously) and if u leave the original neck pickup on it and cmbine the dimebucker with it u will get a really warm and low end sound on rythm but really high end "shred ur head off" soundon leads...AWSOME!
Features
this guitars got everything u want...except for either a floyd rose or 2 volume controls
Ease of Use
cant get more simple then this
Quality
works fine but if the nut isnt grooved enough for 11 gauge strings so dont put 11s. on it unless u groove the nut right, and if u dont know haw the just take to any guitar center and theyll do it for u......its that easy

"It's worth every cent"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This guitar is good all around and the standard pickups sound good. The only thing i don't like about it is how you can't play it sitting down.
Sound
This guitar sounds awesome. I just got it today and i have been cranking on my Line 6 Spider III 120 amp. This guitar screams and has the entire range of active emg's.
Features
I got the guitar by itself because I couldn't find a case to fit it yet. The guitar itself i sawesome all around it is basic but all you need to rock.
Ease of Use
The guitar is as basic as you can get and has a thin neck which makes it easy for shredding or playing chords. I play metal and my dad plays classic rock and this guitar can do it all.
Quality
There was nothing wrong with this guitar and I dropped it already. There wasn't even a mark on it that I could se so I'm pretty impressed.
Value
I would be willing to pay double the price and the sound this guitar has is deffinately worth it.
The Wow Factor
Mine is all black but the way the strings go into the body and the offset of the tail makes this guitar's looks great without compromsing sound.

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

Im pretty sure this guitar will last me many years. Its built very well. If it were stolen i would probably buy another one. The thing i like most about it is the sound. There isnt really anything i dont like about it, only the headstock overweighing the body.
Sound
Amazing sound quality, the pickups are of high quality. Iv tried out various types of tuning on it and they all sound great.
Features
1 volume control, 1 tone control and a 3 way pickp selector. Pretty basic but works well.
Ease of Use
Very nice to play, headstock overweighs the body though.
Quality
The guitar itself is made very well, was staggered by how good it sounds and how well it plays for a pretty cheap guitar.

listen all you people who say its hard to play with this "randy" sitting down, if you haven't figured by now, you can prop the guitar with your leg, just put the lower half of the body between your legs....its really simple..this guitar overall is the best for a cheap price.

This "randy" is one of the best ones, I own a RR5 and I play it for my shows for the beginning sets, then i switch to the JS30RR..its a really great guitar nothing with it.

it is pretty sweet
Sound
it sounds cool and it has that metal tone, for megadeth/metallica type deals
Features
the only proplem with the guitar is the playability if you sit down to play or practice it wants to slide off of your leg
Ease of Use
if you like to stand like me most of the time rock on if you sit........... well good luck with that
Quality
i droped mine like a million times it is still together luckily
Value
this guitar is worth more than it's sold for, so ....... buy it
Manufacturer Support

Jackson JS30RR Rhoads Customer Review

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Sound
The sound is good at the price.
Features
it's enough to satisfy playing
Quality
decent quality, again for the price it's not bad. Compared to other guitars in this range, it's above them.
Value
It's a good value. I can't believe how Jackson guitars (and other brands as well) lowered their price, which is nice. I remember getting my first Jackson 8 years back and the prices were fairly high. If this model was offered back then at this price, I would have gotten it at a heart beat. It's a good deal.

"My favorite Guitar"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
This is my baby. I mean, im going to buy the next couple of versions up... perhaps the USA RR or something because i want the tremelo, but this guitar has allowed me to become a tremendous soloist because of its EASY to reach higher frets ( i mean, i can bend number 24 and i can even give it some major vibrato if i want to ). Overall, i would like to buy another one just to have it in red. Maybe the Black too. You should BUY one if you have 300$
Sound
This is the greatest guitar possible for 300$
Features
If it had a tremelo it would be even better
Quality
The finish is very pretty. I did have a little problem, the pot died out, but i went to the local guitar store and jackson paid for it. Unfortunately i had to pay a service charge of 18 dollars, but it is in the best working condition ever
Value
Worth plenty more than i paid for it. Definitely buy this over an ESP/LTD for the same price. I bought this guitar over the EC-1000 because i thought that it played better.
Manufacturer Support
When i called Jackson/Fender with my problem, they said no problem, and that i would get it fixed for free.
The Wow Factor
Sexiest guitar i own. One of my favorites that i have ever played. I WOULD BUY THIS OVER ANY GIBSON LP, ANY ESP, OR ANY FENDER. Not only is it really cheap and has beautiful sound and a fine finish... ITS 300 dollars.... and i would rather play this than a Gibson Black Beauty!
