So to start I have a older jackson custom shop SL2H and this new American line in my opinion is a insane deal when i compare my SL2H to my new American standard SL3 they got everything right and i do mean everything. The way the guitar feels when your holding it they got it right right down to the weight of the two instruments. The fast yet not too slim D profile neck the frets the string action they got it all right the new American standard is virtually identical when compared to my custom shop SL2H. The differences no binding on the jackson SL3 but that is a feature on jackson SL3s not very many of them come with binding. That spoken jackson have cut the fret tangs to create a wood binding on the new american jackson SL3s. The floyed rose 1500 also not a big deal to me it feels the same as my floyed rose original and its made to the same specs as a floyed rose original. Upgrades that my custom shop doesn't have the new American SL3s come stock with strap locks luminlay side dots quick access truss rod wheel and locking gotoh tuners all missing features on my custom shop axe. How does it play compared to my custom shop identical and like my custom shop SL2H the American standard SL3 is a fast built for all the fretboard tricks metal shred monster. This guitar plays itself and is unapologetically most definitely a USA jackson. My only complaint is it would have been nice to get a true hard shell case with it but the lightweight case it comes with will do the trick.
Sound
The jackson american SL3 is very versatile and sounds as it should like a hot built for shreding and melting faces super strat.
Ease of Use
The guitar plays itself and so long as it is set up right you shouldn't have to be fighting it when playing
Quality
It is on the same quality level as my jackson SL2H custom shop its just built to the new jackson american SL3s specifications
Value
You will not get a US made jackson for cheaper than this anywhere used or new
The Wow Factor
10 out of 10 if you know you know US built jackson guitars are the holy grail of shred guitar insanity.

Built for speed and fretboard Olympics playing this guitar is a treat. The neck is fast yet not too thinit sounds fantasticAble to achieve the lowest string action out of any guitar i own save for my other USA jackson SL2H soloistthe fret work on the guitar is outstandingthe Korean floyed rose 1500 isn't as bad as some people say it is in my opinionThe quality is there to back up the bold claims made by jackson guitars about the new American standard line

Had the Green beast a couple days now. Changed the strings to 10s. The term block screws where very hard to turn. The block is the same one you get with the js-32 series. The pots are quarter size cts 250 k. It's got a fender 5 way switch. Same one that comes with a standard stratocaster. The fret board is nice needed oiled although not much . Setup was perfect if you play with 9s. The SOFT CASE is nice but not road Worthy if you haul anything else with you. Frets are perfect. Guitar is buzzy but it's a shred guitar. The action is higher at 24 than 12. Tried to fix that with a slight truss rod adjustment but still higher. Tone is good. Sustain is really not that great. My SG 61 standard was a way better buy than this. Got that from zZounds too. Zounds is awesome. O last thing. I really miss the binding.
Sound
Like a hot strat.
Value
No not at all. In my experience with Jackson the X series is the best buy

"NOT USA quality. Total disappointment. Jackson should be ashamed of themselves."

I purchased the Slime Green SL3. zZounds was fantastic as usual and I am a repeat customer for life. Jackson on the other hand; should be embarrassed by the quality control of this USA "assembled" Soloist. The quality is nowhere near their Made in Korea and Made in Japan models which are half the cost of the "USA" model. I own examples of both and speak from experience. The neck is terrible and unlike any other Soloist or Dinky I have ever touched and more closely feels like an Epiphone neck. The frets are terrible with buzzing, dead spots and uneven frets. Keep in mind this left the Jackson factory in this condition as this was a brand new, factory sealed guitar. They even left small pieces of masking tape with notes scribbled on them inside the Trem-Spring cavity on the back. And all that at this price point? How was that missed? This is the second brand new Jackson I have purchased in the last three years that was a TOTAL BUST. You may have better luck than I have, but as I life long Jackson player and fan, I need a new brand now, because I don't trust Jackson anymore. Not their quality, not their choice of accessories (case, pick ups, fret material, etc). In my opinion, If you must have a Jackson, get a X series and make your own upgrades for 1/3 to 1/2 the price. Very disappointed. I love zZounds, but Jackson? Not anymore and it bums me out that this is what has happened to such a storied American brand.
